Who will start up front for Manchester City on the 1st day of the season?

Well, it’s a simple question.
Who will start up front for Manchester City on the 1st day of the season when Mark Hughes’ men travel to Blackburn? For the question, we are presuming City will start with two men up front.
City now have eight senior strikers on the books at Eastlands and many believe that number could grow to at least nine before the transfer window closes.
In my opinion, Carlos Tevez and Emmanuel Adebayor will be the two who get the nod on August 15th. What do you think? Comments below please.

well i hope its tevez and santa cruz i dont wont adebayor to play for us because santa cruz came to man city because of first team football and better experiance and he wont get it if he has to challenge the likes of adebayor for a place

Hughes is building a squad…….I think you are right, Adebayor and Tevez, providing both are fit……..if not, Santa Cruz will come in…..and that’s the whole point, last year with injuries there was no decent players as back up……doesn’t look like this will be a problem in 2009/10!!!

who’s behind the buys? .. Jo was a Shinawatra buy, Robinho was the owners .. Tevez? .. seem to remember reading that Hughes had to be ‘brought round’ to the idea of buying him .. Jo out at Everton, but neither of City’s A-list players are Hughes’ buys .. and prob was the same with Eto, another marqee/A-lister .. so is Adebeyor the owners’ choice, ie no2 if can’t get Eto? .. so Hughes will have some players he didn’t really buy, ie Rob, Tev, and Ade, the others, Bellers etc, he did .. any impact on his choice? .. and who drops out for Tev if he plays? used to be just one-up front, ie now RSC/Ade instead of Caicedo/Bellamy … play me, i’m dirt cheap .. can’t score mind

Obviously the people who have already posted didn’t watch City once last season, if they did they’d know Hughes played a three prong attack with Robinho on the left, Sweep on the right with a single striker. Can’t see him changing that this season, with Tevez replacing Sweep on the right side of the attack with Adebayor thru the middle. RSC will spend most of this City career on the bench.

….but they way we were lined up last season would indicate three attacking players. So it’s Tevez, Santa Cruz(or Adebayor if he signs) and Robinho. Midfield-Ireland, De Jong and Barry. Defence, well let’s see who we get but Onouha deserves a chance, he was much, much improved last season, second only to Ireland.

Whoever does best in training. I suspect RSC could play though because strikers always seem to haunt the club that sold them, so it could be horses fopr courses. Anyway with say RSC Tevez up front say the bench will be awesome. So excite dabout this season bring them all on.

dear Andy, obviously you are an arrogant toe-rag, (probably a closet swamp dweller), somehow managing to know what other people did or didn’t do last year, and so can’t possibly be a real City fan … and Hughes no doubt has the flexibility as a manager to play other than how he has in the past, if he so chooses, even if you obviously haven’t the capabiltiy to see that he might … arrogant pig
