Fernando Torres warns Liverpool

Posted by on July 29, 2009 | 2 Comments

Liverpool striker Fernando Torres has today warned the club that losing Xabi Alonso to Real Madrid would be a bad piece of work.

Alonso has been continuosly linked with a move to the Bernabeu in recent weeks, with some papers claiming that it’s only a matter of time before a deal is struck between the two clubs.

When asked about Alonso’s future at Anfield, Torres had this to say :

“It would be a bad piece of work if Xabi left. He plays his cards close to his chest so I don’t know what is going to happen. It would be a serious loss for Liverpool if he left this summer.”

I, along with most of the Liverpool fans around the world would tend to agree with Torres. Losing Alonso would no doubt dent Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League title this season. If they do somehow manage to keep Alonso on Merseyside, I firmly believe that Liverpool will finally win the league for the first time in 20 years. It will be interesting to see how this one develops over the coming days, so stay tuned to Football Corner for all the latest.

Well, I really think, we need xabi. He is the key player. A play maker from the deep. He combined with gerrard, make a perfect midfield pair. Anyways, he is a good player, i wouldn’t want him to leave at all.
