Manchester United prepare to move for long-term Liverpool target

Manchester United have today been strongly linked with a move for Valencia winger David Silva, with a £25 million likely to be made in the coming days.
Silva has been linked with a move to the Premier League for a number of years now, with Liverpool being consistently linked with the Spanish international.
Despite Sir Alex Ferguson claiming he was not interested in bringing anyone else to Old Trafford this summer, it is understood that he is still keen to spend some of the £80 million the club received from the sale of Cristiano Ronaldo back in June.
Silva is regarded by many as one of the best wingers in European football and with United clearly lacking in that department, it would make sense for them to make a move. Valencia travel to Manchester this week to face United in a pre-season friendly where talks are likely to take place between the two clubs regarding the 23-year old’s future.
There is no doubt that if United are to win a 4th Premier League title in as many seasons, they need to add to their current squad. Losing the likes of Ronaldo and Tevez is bound to affect any team in the world and for me, they have yet to replace that pair. Signing Silva would go some way to replacing Ronaldo, so I think United would be mad not to make a bid at least.

Ha ha, good luck with that light-weight Fergie, i live in Spain and watch Valencia regularly and if there’s one plaer not cut out for the prem its him. Villa is a different kettle of fish all together. He’s pure class and would be fabulous in England

Well, its really hard to see that happening. Liverpool should get him, he will fit their system, and definitely will fill in the gap created by Xabi Alonso.
