Is this the man to replace Lescott at Everton?

With the future of Joleon Lescott still firmly in the balance, Everton have today been linked with a move for another Premier League defender to possibly replace the Manchester City target. Arsenal’s Phillippe Senderos.
The Swiss international looks certain to leave the Emirates before the season starts on August 15th, with Arsene Wenger recently bringing another defender to the club in the shape of Thomas Vermaelen.
Everton boss David Moyes knows that if Lescott was to leave in the coming weeks, he would need to replace him and Senderos is seen as a possible acquisition for the Merseyside club. Senderos, 24, is likely to cost the Toffees £6 million but in my opinion, for that price, he really isn’t worth it.
Senderos is a decent player, however, if Everton think he can step into the shoes of Joleon Lescott they are wrong. For me, Senderos would only be a good signing for a Premier League side looking to break into the top half of the table, not challenging for Europe. What do you think? Am I being a bit harsh on Senderos? Comments below please.

I think Senderos has the ability if he can cut the mistakes out of his game – Moyes is known to work wonders with defenders – look at his record – and i think the acquisition of Senderos could be good for Everton as long as it is as a back up to what they already have, not as a replacement for Lescott.

-a player who has played for two of the top teams in world fotball
-a player who has played every game for his country at the last 2 major international tournaments
-a player who despite his wealth of experience would be the youngest player in evertons back 4
-a player who has undisputed talent which just needs to be recognised again.
Moyes has turned jagielka, lescott, baines from champioship players to england internationals..
I think senderos is moyes’ next diamond waiting to be polished…

i disagree with you all and this report because he might make mistakes but he is still a great defender for any side in the prem from the europa leagu down to the relagation fight at the bottom of the table so you are all being to harsh on him and have not given him good enough chance to prove himself
