Manchester City & Manchester United ready to go head-to-head for Real Madrid midfielder

Both Manchester City and Manchester United are lining up bids for Real Madrid midfiedler Arjen Robben.
The Dutch winger has been told he is surplus to requirements at the Bernabeu and in recent weeks, he has been strongly linked with a move back to the Premier League.
Robben, 25, has previously admitted that a move back to England may interest him, however he has also claimed he would be willing to stay and fight for his place in Madrid.
Both Mark Hughes and Sir Alex Ferguson clearly have money to spend so money is unlikely to be an issue in any potential deal. I would personally love to see Robben terrorising defenders in the Premier League once again. I was a huge fan of his whilst he was at Chelsea and I firmly believe United and indeed City could use him.
What do you think? Comments below please.

Interesting,
I was always a fan of his at Chelsea and Real Madrid, however, as a City fan, I just don’t think there is enough room for him.
I mean our midfield is full at the moment, we have SWP, Barry, De Jong and Ireland (as well as Johnson in recovery).
As well, Robben’s position is already nicely filled by Robinho, who plays the left wing/forward position that Robben would.
And last I read it looked like Robben really wanted to stay with Madrid, he’s had a great pre-season, I think Sneijder will be moving though.

Y would robben go to a small club with a small mentality as man city there no competion if man utd or city come in for him. United are the best club in the world and will rule over city for a very very long time. Good players need to be at good clubs so in that case why would he go to city hmm UNITED!!! Not achance SAF will sign him – way too soft – he disappears after the first tackle. Probably why Chelsea sold him – you may remember a Wes Brown tackle which crunched him and then he’s off to Real Madrid. And the price 20,000,000?
Madrid are now big time worried on their finances – other clubs know they have to sell – all the players are shputing “will fight for my place” – Real stilll have to pay them – ergo a buyers market

Another United Vs City story, what a joke, United cannot compete with the might of City.
United are a has been, never will be again unless some idiot pays over the odd and buys the Glazers out and wipes the debt clean, not that they will ever see a profit.
