Eduardo is not the only one diving

Posted by Cathal Breathnach on August 27, 2009 | 5 Comments

Does anyone else think the Eduardo diving situation has been blown out of all proportion? I do.

In case you have missed it, this is the whole situation condensed down to just one sentence.

Celtic players want Arsenal striker Eduardo banned for two games because he dived during their Champions League tie last night.

There’s no doubt about it. Eduardo dived, but to say he should be banned for two games because of it is just ridiculous. If that rule is in place, then Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo should be banned for 9,354 games.

I, like the majority of other football fans, don’t like to see players diving, however it happens. Simple as that. Unfortunately it’s a part of the modern game, so banning Eduardo would make no sense whatsoever.

What do you think? Comments below please.

I agree with you. Eduardo’s dive was shameless and you know diving isn’t considered acceptable in English football, but I really think the media lost its way.

Plus, and just like you, I haven’t heard many complaints in the last years about Ronaldo’s awful performances in the box.

Wait, what team was he enrolled in?
