Manchester United have cheeky bid for Manchester City midfielder rejected

According to reports in the Sunday Mirror, Manchester United have failed in their attempts to sign Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland.
Sir Alex Ferguson was hoping to tempt Ireland away from Eastlands and bring him to Old Trafford, however the world’s richest club rejected the Premier League Champions’ enquiry straight away.
Ireland, 23, is now, without a shadow of a doubt, one of the best midfielders in the league. Ever since breaking onto the scene back in 2005, Ireland has been superb and today’s link is testament to that.
It’s hard to tell whether or not United really did make an enquiry for Ireland but one things for sure, they could do a lot worse than the former Cobh Ramblers man.
Ireland would have to be worth at least £22 million if you take into account the amount of money being spent on midfielders this summer. He is still very young and hopefully his best years are ahead of him.
What do you think? Comments below please.

22 mill? that would buy his middle finger and you know what Urnited can do with that.

Firstly, we would never bid 22 mil for him, as unlike Man city we do not spend way over the odds on average players! Logically there is not one player in your team actually worth 22 million full stop, every player you have bought so far has had at least 10-15 mil added to their value.. Lescott is the most out rageous of these as he is no more than an 8 mil player. So before you guys in blue get carried away with your new found wealth take a good long look at your team, it is average or maybe above average but never very good! Good luck with the qualifying for the Europa league..

Poor Pablo sorry to break the news but you are flat broke, £746 million in debt and rising.
You are now shopping in the bargin basement for cast off’s with no pace and no fee Owen leading your attack.
Our team is average or above average…..?
Guess you dont get the EPL where you live try and work out which team has won every game so far and not conceded a goal.
One clue its the only Premier League team in Manchester.

Hmm feed the goat, before you critique other teams that win on a regular basis(even with all this debt) don’t you think it’d be prudent to wait until the end of the season? I can assure you that City will win nothing this season and there in lies your problem. It doesn’t matter how much money you have, if you win nothing then the best players will constantly knock you back…which is why you have ended up with tevez, lescott, etc etc.. Players unable to survive in the top four! If anyone breaks thentop four this season at liverpools expense it will be Spurs…I hope you enjoy the dream as you’ll find reality doesn’t match up..
