David Beckham has today admitted that a move back to England may be on the cards.
The LA Galaxy midfielder knows he needs to move back to Europe during the next transfer window if he is to stand any chance of making it into Fabio Capello’s squad for next year’s World Cup in South Africa.
Beckham, 34, left the Premier League back in 2003, when Real Madrid paid Manchester United nearly £25 million for his services. Beckham went on to make over 150 appearances for Real before making the controversial decision to move to the MLS.
The England international is regarded by many as one of the most best players to ever play the game. He recently became the most capped outfield England player ever, pulling on the white of England over 110 times.
When asked about the possibility of a move back to England, Beckham had this to say : “Everyone knows I will be planning to come back to Europe. I don’t know, there are a few options, put it that way.”
Many Premier League clubs have been linked with Beckham in recent times, with both Chelsea and Tottenham understood to be keen on offering him the chance to move back to his homeland. I would personally love to see Beckham back playing in the greatest league in the world. There is no doubt he is knocking on a bit now, however I firmly believe he is still well capable of playing at the highest level.
