Wouldn’t Tottenham fans just love to see this man back at White Hart Lane?

Posted by on September 23, 2009 | 10 Comments

sol campbellSol Campbell has today ended his short stay (that’s a massive understatement) at League Two side Notts County.

The former England international moved to Meadow Lane back August after the shock arrival of Sven Goran Eriksson at the club. Following his departure from Notts County, the 35-year old has been linked with several clubs, including his old club Tottenham.

It’s fair to say Campbell is hated amongst the large majority of the White Hart Lane faithful. Back in 2001, he left White Hart Lane to join north London rivals Arsenal leading to uproar amongst Spurs fans. Harry Redknapp has previously ruled out the possibilty of Campbell moving back to the club where he began his career, however SkyBet make Campbell just 9/2 to join Tottenham in January.

I’m keen to hear what you Spurs fans have to say on this one. Leave your comments below please.

I’m probably in the minority but yes I would be glad to see Sol back. Let’s be fair we should have bent over backwards to have kept him in the first place. I dread to think how much money we have spent over the last 8 years trying to replace him. What a partnership he and Ledley would have made. Ok going to Arsenal wasn’t the wisest move he could have made, but what a lot of fans forget is that for about three seasons running he virtually kept us from relegation on his own. Week after week he was regularly our man of the match. I think hes probably got two more good years in him and he is going to be deperate to play so he can comeinto the England reckoning. COYS

I must one of the incredibly tiny minority not to hate Scumball. I find him pitiable. I pity his lack of moral integrity. I pity him the approbrium he has so richly earned for himself.

Look..we have problem with our back four…and if this man can still do the job..oh hell…let him come back and do the job for us…all should be forgotten if he can also score against those Ar5enal gooners.

Notts County is actually in League Two. Maybe if it was League One then Sol would have stayed longer. But who are we kidding? I could see Phil Brown doing everything in his power to sign Sol, even Pompey could give him another go considering that club’s current state.
