So why wasn’t Gary Neville fined?

Posted by on October 1, 2009 | 20 Comments

I Was absolutely disgusted to hear today that Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor had been charged £25,000 by the FA for his over the top celebration during last month’s 4-2 win over Arsenal.
.
Before I start moaning, I would like to say that I have absolutely no problem with Adebayor being fined, in fact, I don’t think the FA fined him enough (considering the fact £25,000 is literally pennies to him).
.
The thing that does annoy me is the lack of consistency. I am sure most of you saw the Adebayor incident. It was bad, right? But how was it any different from what Gary Neville did against Manchester City during the derby last month.
.
The United captain ran half the length of the pitch to celebrate in front of the 4,000 or so travelling City fans. That is clearly enticing the fans, the exact same thing Adebayor did. So why wasn’t Neville fined?

One plays for City, the other a ‘top four’ club……simples!!

Because he’s a rag. And they OWN the league.

You see sh*tty decisions favoring Manure day-in day-out, it’s pretty sickening.

And the Chuckle Brother also has ‘form’ for his previous fine and warning for his celebration against Liverpool !!

Because the city fans didn’t riot like the arsenal however I do agree there is a serious lack of consistency from the fa that scumbag Neville who was an unused sub did exactly what he did against Liverpool so shouldn’t he have a big ban for repetitive disruptive behaviour?

    Or van Persie’s?

The FA obviously have a hidden agenda when it comes to City, and equally obviously it’s a top-four driven agenda. So we are not only competing with the top four, but the FA as well. So be it.

But I’d just like to point out that despite United and the FA’s best efforts, City were competing against arguably the best defense in the Premier League with over £70 million pounds worth of strikers either on the treatment table or banned, and we STILL put three past United. Had it not been for the referee obeying instructions from head office, we’d have had a point off them as well.

The FA have a duty to every football fan in this country to explain this anomoly.

neville’s fine was cheaper cos he didnt do the knee sliding thing, so has less impact.

I guess the reason is that the City fans managed to control their emotions and did not attempt to get onto the pitch to attack Neville, attack stewards or throw things.

So there you have it folks. If you want to get a player into trouble, just generate a bit of crowd trouble and bob’s yer unkle! Is that now official FA policy?

I suppose the official Man City website not issuing a statement condemning Mr Chuckle didn’t help to create enough press hysteria for the FA to react to either.

    Ho Hum!

Neville is probably the most hated cunt in the land of football outside of Man U. He’s one of those little shits that you just want to smack in the mouth every day of the week!

I love all the conspiracy theories. All wrong imo.

The FA simply don’t know what the hell they are doing and are totally incapable of behaving in a consitent manner, or forming a long term plan for the well-being of the game and sticking to it, regardless of whether we’re talking about players on the pitch, the officials or the fans. They simply can’t do it.

Its because the FA are controlled by the media. If they kick up a fuss the Fa will act.

They are a bunch of pussies who need to be governed by a better organisation than Uefa and Fifa to keep them in check, who funnily enough are headed by twats!!!!!

Breaking news from Sky Sports: Ryan Giggs has just scored in the Manchester Derby to make it 5-3 to United.

Ooh, also; what about Van Persie running straight to the City fans and giving them abuse. Wasn’t he swearing at the crowd. Is that not inciting behaviour and irresponsibilty?!

It really does piss me off, the people in charge of the FA couldn’t run a tap!

I’ve been saying it for years….Old Trafford is simply the Northern HQ of the F.A. There’s probably all sorts of favouritism and backhanders going on between the two and has been for a long time. No penalties awarded to the opposition…ever, injury time constantly added on ’til scum win, referees too scared to give decisions against them no matter how dirty their players play or how much they dive and cheat. I think even Baconface has a lot to answer to for the way he disrespects all the teams and managers his teams face both before and after a match. If this isn’t enticing the prospect of bad blood between their supporters and fans of other teams then what is? He doesn’t just wind up the opposing manager and team but supporters as well with his smug arrogant attitude. He’s an arsehole and so are some of his players (Rooney & Neville especially!)and most of their fans certainly are, i mean what is it with them? Do they think that supporting them makes themselves more important than anyone else, like it’s some sort of personal triumph or qualification?! They seriously need to get a life and accept that people have a right to support any team they like. Dickheads!!

I am an arsenal fan, but i believe ade shouldn’t be punished for his celebration. For the stamp on van persie, yes, but not the celebration. He was provoked by the fans for the whole match and i think its fair that he celebrates that way. In fact questions should asked about the fans who threw missiles onto the pitch. If ade is to be punished, then gary neville should be too, to be consistent.
