Adriano to Tottenham?

Posted by on October 15, 2009 | 1 Comment

Reports today have claimed that former Inter Milan frontman Adriano may be on his way to Tottenham during the January transfer window.

The troubled Brazilian striker was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League last January, however for whatever reasons nothing ever materialised.

Harry Redknapp has in the past claimed that he would be interested in bringing the 27-year old to White Hart Lane and few would bet against just that happening during the winter.

Adriano is currently playing with Brazilian side Flamengo, where he has scored 15 goals in 22 appearances. I personally think Adriano would be well worth the gamble. Wherever he has been in his career he has scored bags of goals and for anything less than £5 million, I feel he would prove value for money.

Having said that, I’m not really sure Tottenham need another striker. They already have Robbie Keane, Jermain Defoe, Roman Pavlyuchenko and Peter Crouch on the books, so, Redknapp may be better off spending his money elsewhere.

I’m keen to hear what you Spurs fans have to say on this one. Comments below please.

It has been well documented that Adriano has his personal problems(don’t we all,)although he has come out and said he is trying to clean up his bad boy image,

So if Harry can obviously discern how bad these are in his meetings with the player and feels there is really nothing to worry about,I would like to have this player as he offers something which we lack up front,

As he seems to me to lie in the mould of a Drogba, with those strong and powerful runs.

I do however wonder whether he would join us if he thinks he might spend a lot of time on the bench, this though would be a good way of showing his commitment to gaining control over his deomons.(i.e. knuckle down and work hard for the team,)

Come January I believe we will see some important changes at Spurs,Pav leaving, Muntari coming in,either way the defining answer to a lot of important questions will be whether we are still in a Champions League position or not,as this will help influence a lot of players and thee decisions they make.
