Should Aaron Lennon have played the last ten minutes against Stoke?

Posted by on October 26, 2009 | 2 Comments

We all saw what happened yesterday.

Tottenham lost 1-0 at home to St0ke City with Glen Whelan bagging the only goal of the game for the visitors, however it was Aaron Lennon’s departure from the White Hart Lane turf that got everyone talking.

From seeing the pictures, Spurs boss Harry Redknapp clearly wasn’t happy with Lennon after the England winger decided not to stay on the field of play for the last ten minutes after he picked up a knock. The situation arised when the home side had made their three substitutions leaving Redknapp with a bit of a problem.

Despite urging Lennon to stand on the pitch for the last ten minutes, Redknapp could only watch as the 24-year old limped down the tunnel just minutes before Stoke grabbed a late winner. I’m not really sure what to think of the whole situation. I could understand why Lennon wanted to go off, however he didn’t look that injured and I think he might regret not playing on.

I’m intrigued to hear what you Spurs fans have to say on this one. Comments below please.

Well he should of stayed on and Stoke as always play anti-football reasons 1 and 2 but us Spurs fans can all turn an eye towards the idiot that is Jermain Defoe.

Yes he should have stayed, his presence alone would not have allowed the defender a free role.
