I say this as a Stoke supporter as the most important thing for Stoke is to remain in the Premier League and Europe puts a great deal of extra strain on the squad due to numerous extra games. Look how Everton and Fulham are struggling at present - relative to last year. Once Stoke are established with an even stronger squad - perhaps in a couple of seasons, then would be the time to aim for Europe.
