Premier League players told to stop disgusting habit

Premier League players have today been told that spitting on the football pitch increases the risk of spreading swine flu.
Following today’s news that members of the Bolton playing staff have contracted the virus, along with yesterday’s revelation that several Blackburn members of staff also have the virus, the Health Protection Agency had this to say :
“Spitting is disgusting at all times. It’s unhygienic and unhealthy, particularly if you spit close to other people. Footballers, like the rest of us, wouldn’t spit indoors so they shouldn’t do it on the football pitch.”
“If they are spitting near other people it could certainly increase the risk of passing on infections. It’s about setting examples for young people who idolise them.”
I’m glad the HPA have decided to condem spitting on the pitch. It’s a disgusting thing to look at on the telly, especially when the camera has zoomed right up on a player’s face just as he is about to spit a big dirty flemmer out of his mouth.
This news is obviously bad for one man in particular. Can you guess who I’m thinking about?
I’ll give you a clue. He loves spitting in people’s faces. Comments below please.
