Rio Ferdinand heading for White Hart Lane next summer?

Possibly the most ridiculous transfer rumour ever from the Daily Mail today.
The paper claims that Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is planning a move for Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand.
After a few dodgy performances in recent weeks and months, the Daily Mail seems to think that Sir Alex Ferguson is looking to replace Ferdinand with Everton youngster Jack Rodwell.
Ferdinand, 30, has spent over seven years at Old Trafford since leaving Leeds back in 2002 and if you ask any real United fan about the England international, they will say that he has been one of the club’s best defenders in recent times.
Tottenham always seem to be linked with some big name players who you just know won’t move to White Hart Lane, however I have to say, this one takes the biscuit.
To think that Ferguson would just offload Ferguson after a string of bad performances is just stupid. He’s not an idiot. He knows that Ferdinand is, without doubt, one of the best defenders in the world on his day and lets be perfectly honest, he’s not going to sell him (well not for another few years anyway).
What do you think? Comments below please.

If Modric was part of the deal…Sir Alex may just be tempted. After all he must be looking for a successor
