If Torres goes, I go

Rafa and FernandoLiverpool manager Rafa Benitez has today claimed that he would walk out on the club if he was forced to sell Fernando Torres.

When asked about the possibility of Torres being sold next summer to ease Liverpool’s financial troubles, Benitez simply replied : “It won’t happen. I’d quit.”

The Spanish striker has been outstanding since arriving on Merseyside back in 2007. The former Atletico Madrid captain has scored 60 goals in just under 100 appearances in the red of Liverpool since signing for the club for a fee of £20 million.

It would be strange to see Torres leave Liverpool, however I am sure that won’t be happening anytime soon so Benitez will obviously be sticking around for the foreseeable future. He is without doubt one of, if not the best player at the club and I feel, should he stick around for another few years, Torres will become one of the greatest Liverpool players of all-time.

I’m curious to hear what you have to say on this? Would Benitez really walk if Torres is sold? Comments below please.
