Roberto Mancini wants Torres, Mascherano, Henry, Ribery & Aguero to name a few

Well that’s the Sunday papers for you.
The Times reports that the new Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini will be giving the financial backing to add to his top four chasing side.
The former Inter boss has apparently already drawn up a list of players whom he would like to arrive at Eastlands in the new year.
Liverpool duo Fernando Torres and Javier Mascherano are among the names linked with a move to City and with the Merseyside clubs current financial trouble, you never know.
French internationals Franck Ribery and Theirry Henry are also said to be attracting interest from the world’s richest club. Sergio Aguero, Angel Di Maria, Yaya Toure and West Ham’s Matthew Upson complete the list, however I find it hard to believe that Mancini would want so many new strikers considering the current wealth of frontmen at the club at the moment.
Realistically, I can only see Matthew Upson and/or Javier Mascherano joining from that list. We all know about West Ham’s current financial trouble, so any decent sized bid for Upson should be successful.
It’s fair to say Liverpool need to sell before they can buy, so should a bid of £20 million plus come in for Mascherano, I personally can see it being accepted. What do you think? Comments below please.

Aww, so its a Colin with a ski on the end to make yourself feel better.
You will be crying your eyes out if Mancini succeeds, if not you will still be crying when they replace him with Hiddink or Mourinho.
Muppets the lot of ya

Quite a story considering Mancini hasn’t actually spoken yet – maybe this list was divulged to the press via the medium of mime. In short – bollocks.

Nonsense.
He can get all the players he wants but he won’t succeed anymore than Hughes.
(Unless)
He works and works with the players he has.
Surely you City fans didn’t expect to be top when your manager buys a completely NEW squad?
Saying that, exciting days ahead for Blues Fans!

Mancini WILL change the face of the PL as much as Ferguson has done with Utd. I bet he’s at the club in ten years time with a load of silverware in the cupboard. He’ll add the Carling Cup this year if not the fa cup. Probably finish in the top 4 and about four world class players in the summer.I give him one season before we are at least runners up if not winners of the PL two seasons for the CL.

you must be joking if you think we’ll win the CL in two seasons, given the amount of disruption to squad and backroom personnel in the coming months, Chelsea have had huge investment for the past 6 years and it still hasnt brought them the CL, ambition isn’t a bad thing, but some fellow city fans really need to take a reality check. Qualification for the CL is now a must for mancini, id be happy to see us make it into the latter knockout stages in two seasons!

Mancini is the man, he can attract the big international names, handle big stars with his flambouyant style, he definatley knows how to win and personally i’m glad Huges’s piss poor tactics and playing style have been shown the door, our defense has been nothing short of discraceful and well as for signings Hughes was hit and miss with most of the defensive ones which is plain to see (apologies Dunnie Monster) Hughes was a stupid twat for selling you and has paid a heavy price, i’m glad Blackburn Rovers are now oficially out of our door.If you look at the stats i think huges was only put in to get the overall standards of the club back up to scratch and sort out any underlying issues that we had before the owners bought us. I think there was always a hidden agenda and i could see Hughes being succeded in a heartbeat.
