One player Arsenal need to sign to win the Premier League title this season

Arsenal are now only four points behind Chelsea at the top of the Premier League table following yesterday’s 3-0 victory over in-form Aston Villa, however I still firmly believe Arsene Wenger needs to sign a top class player during the January transfer window if they are to win their first Premier League title in six years this time around.
Wenger admitted earlier this month that he would like to add to his squad in January. This led to literally dozens of names being linked with a move to the Emirates this January, including the likes of Marouane Chamakh, Craig Bellamy, Carlton Cole and Klaas Jan Huntelaar.
We all know Arsenal have money to spend. That has been the case for several years now but for whatever reasons Wenger has decided not to avail of it. This transfer window is likely to see a change in Wenger’s thinking, so we at Football Corner want to know who you think Wenger should be splashing the cash on this January and keeping the credit card machines busy.
I personally believe that the addition of a new striker could see Arsenal go all the way this season. Wenger may be looking to sign someone who would be available to play in the latter stages of the Champions League, so that immediately rules out a few names. I think signing Manchester City’s Craig Bellamy would be an incredible signing for Arsenal. I know the Welsh striker has come out today and denied any truth in the rumour that he is looking to leave Eastlands, however given the opportunity, he may find it difficult to turn down Arsenal.

i think wenger should sign this two players
first,
carlton cole or
gabriel agbonlahor ( both of them were english)
and second,
a strong holding midfielder ( song will be unavailable 4 african cup)i’ll pick marcos senna will be good signing (experience and a sharp-shooter)

I think Huntelaar would be nice, I feel he fits a lot better in the English system, as he does not really impress me in Italy, while he did impress in Holland and was reasonably good in Spain.
Also I read that Pandev is currently transfer-free… Would fit Wenger’s financial choice! Though I have to admit Pandev has stated that he would love to join Internazionale.
Anyway, it will be interesting to see who will be signed. There are a lot of names and rumours everywhere, but only one man will make the decision and let’s hope it’s the right one!

You are all missing the point.
A. Arsene Wenger does not buy the finished article like David Villa. He always wants young players that he can mold.
B. more importantly Arsenal need a world class goalkeeper.
They are the most prolific scorers in the PL but they don’t have a shot stopper. What will win Arsenal the league is not dropping points (like at West Ham) and getting 0 – 0 draws (rather than losing at Sunderland).

I Think Mr wenger needs to Sign Dzeko and Milos krasic.If he doesn’t sign Dzeko than gignac or bellamy but Krasic should definitely land on emirates rather than san siro.He is a quality midfielder.

i think that Arsen Wenger should bring in Andre pierre gignac. he is only 24, young, plays for his country and would be well suited for the epl.

He won’t sign a midfielder – unless injuries dictate that.
He will certainly buy a centre back (he has said so!).
He may buy a striker – Gignac is favourite; Roque could come loose from ManC.

We need to sign two players, a striker and a DM but it is not a must. Most of the crocked players will be available in Jan, NB52 and TR7. Eduardo and Nasri are still picking up and they are providing some offensive threats that will soon become goals.
I think we need to make some tactical changes and try AD2 as our main front man flanked with Arshavin and any of TW14,SN8,EDS9 and TR7 when he returns.
Diaby will provide some of the attributes VP11 was providing on top of his shooting accuracy, direct play, running towards defenders, areal threats as much s physical presence.
Wenger has in the past played players out of position and it has sometimes worked miracles and this could be one waiting to happen.

Bellamy is definitely out. Arsene would not want one with attitude problems which is a bad influence on the others, look at Bentley, Ashley…where are they now?

mate there is a serious injury crisis in the midfield rosicky(injury prone),Denilson,Fabregas(latest),Song will out of action for a month.Milos Krasic,he is only 25 and one best midfielder around at this moment,his performance against ManU in champions league was superb,so he is rite one to fill the gap.
Wenger has tried his experiments with biscoff,Reyes so why not Krasic.

arsenal should spend the cash and sign DAVID VILLA….hes like a fernando torres…the complete striker…or if not then the best buy would be GIGNAC…cause hes eligible for champions league and is a french international striker…+ hes only 24 that would even suite the bosses policy…..a good striker will make arsenal powerful up front n we can deliver the trophies 2…

look ive said it before and ill say it again we dont nee dzeko that morrocan fella or david villa. we need a drogba minus of course the diving.
for me there are 2 players in the world at the moment who fit that bill GIGNAC and ROMELU LUKAKU the first has the first team league and international match exp the other a 16 year old with a phenominal scoring record the guy is awsome so far lakaku has played 16 games and scored 9 goals at first team level not bad for 16 year old best thing is hes taller than drogba at 6,3 and as quick as anyone. at youth level this guy has scored 68 goals in 68 matches for FC Brussels and the for aderlecht yth here scored an amazing 121 goals in 88 games WOW!
wenger should sell bendtner and eduardo and send vela out on loan and get the both of these guys in and we will have all the players we need upfront with more divercity than you could shake a stick at.

all the wenger player can be a scorer,because that is arsenal style, so RVP is the best rule.He have 7 goal and 7 assist goal before he get the injured, also can make arsenal on top.Asenal can play as they played before.Just get another one srtiker like him that can played in 2 style(shoot to get a goal and if can’t,help the team mate to get a goal).

@ personally i don’t think signing 2 strikers will be a wise move..1 striker might do it coz we have great playemakers..Gignac is my main man but if we fail 2 acquire his services then we can sign Hugo Rodallega

Afraid to say it, but Arsenal won’t be winning this Premier League.
They need at least 2 more experiences players, similar to Andrei Arshavin.
With an experienced head, at the minute, their young ins’ are a little too weak for the title.
If they managed to get Dzeko & Diego then they’d be very near the accolade.

We need 2/4 players to win the prem.
1.A quality goalkeeper(Almunia may just get us through the season?)
2.A quality centre half,1 for cover(and 2 we could play Thomas Vermaelen in midfield if necessary.
3.A Vierra type midfield ball winner.
4.And most important of all. a world class striker.Who can put the ball in the fuckin’ net!

Bellamy! Yeh right, like we want another player who’s gonna run his mouth and cause disharmony when ge doesn’t get his own way. Don’t get me wrong the guy’s got bags of ability but in my opinion he’s only ever looked settled and happy at one club and that was Blackburn under Hughes. Can you imagine the problems he would cause in our dressing room if he clashed with say a van Persie, Bendtner or Gallas? We managed to get rid of a rotten apple in Adecouldn’thitabarndoor and look how tight the team looks this season.

Firstly bellamy is a definate no gt attitude probs, David villa is a deffonate no way to expensive 4 us,Carlton cole is a defonate no he can’t score we’ve already gt a Danish version of him NB52,
Now we need 2-6 players in jan
1. Andre Pierre-Gignac he’s eligble 4 champions league by to young gd experience with national team aswell and is a big target man wen a player like NB52 plays we have a different dimesion to play but he’s just nt gt the finishing touch unlike Gignac.15mill
2. Romelu Lukaku this guy sounds class we need a drogbaesc player look wt he dne 2 us recently he was uncontrollable this kid is young cheap nd will want to cme because were the best. 2mill
3. Mahammadou diarra (real Madrid) this guy is class he can make a strong tackle break up play and get play going forward we will need him since song is off 4 2 months He also won’t be to expensive 10mill
4. Steven defour this guys a class act seen as super fab may be out 4 a while he can fit in he can pass the ball brilliantly and is very similiar to cesc but more versitle plus he’s young so it’s gd for the future. 7-10mill
5. Danielle De Rossi this guys brilliant he gets Roma moving even against us in th cl last season he was hard to handle he may be a bit expensive but can play that “quarterback” position as so many teams are using it now he’s a good tackler and can spread the ball.15-20mill
6. Igor Akinfeev (GK) he’s a goolie who can actually challenge manuel for no.1 spot fabianski nd mannone both are ok goolies but akinfeev is a class apart his performance at old Trafford in the cl was extremly impressive young aswell. 5-10mill
hopefully 3 of these players can do the job and win us the title but we need to sell a couple aswell

I beg to differ. Wud think a quick and a gud finisher will do. TH (famous No.14), Fernando Torres or David Villa. All these 3 can keep our captain settled at Arsenal without any further disturbing rumours of leaving.

I reckon the cheapest & most realistic option would be to pick up a couple of experienced players on loan who are desperate to make their respective world cup teams.
Two names that spring to mind are Vieria and Huntelaar.
The loan option can be like an extended trail for Huntelaar with the option of returning the player if he doesn’t adapt – Baptista.
Vieria could do a great job for the remaining 5 months before he moves on to a club in France or a mid table EPL team.
Of course I’d prefer Dzeko or Villa but they are not going anywhere mid season. I have a sneaking suspicion that Wenger will have a crack for Benzema this Summer who is spending too much time on the bench at Madrid.

There’s this awesome striker who’s stunning them all with a goals to game ratio that only Arse will appreciate AND he’s not cup tied AND he’s ideal for our profile. His names Douggie and he’s now 14 years old (a tad over the hill I admit for the Arsenal profile). He plays in the local leagues on the Gold Coast here downunder. Now this fella fits ALL the criterion of an Arsenal signing AND he’s available at 11.55pm on 31st January – perfect huh!!

i think agnabolahor is good 4 arsenal..hez got pace skills and an eye 4 the goal..above all he’ll b available 4 the champions league…wenger should also grab palvychenko to grow wd the team since hez apromising young man…2 me the latter is the next torres while agna is the nxt henry…a strong midfielder is also necessary. 2 m palacious of tottenham is good.

Am I the only person who thinks we should buy a centre back? If Gallas or Verm get injured then I think we’re in trouble. Song could slot into centre back, but we can’t afford not to have him in central midfield.
Silvestre isn’t really the player you want as a back up, Djourou is out for a long time, and Senderos seems to have disappeared off the face of the planet.
Once we get van Persie and Bendtner back, we’ll have too many strikers!!

Goalie is priority. Almunia flaps far too much for a top four goalkeeper causing shakes in defence during set pieces due to lack of trust in him. Either Steve Mandanda who is a demon. Or Guillermo Ochoa who is a ninja.
We also need a centre back, ideally somebody massive who strikers want to avoid. Vermaelen is quality but still can’t worry players such as Didier and Fernando from set pieces etc. Subotic or Sakho would be great. Young, fast, mean. Both fantastic replacements fro Gallas next September. Get them now, they can be his apprentice.
We also need a CDM to cover for Song. Cana from Sunderland is all I am going to say. Captain for country and was captain for Marseille, absolute fruitcake! Arsene to tone him down just a notch and he would be perfect – would be exaclty how we all wished to see Flamini for a long time at the Arsenal.
Finally, a dominant centre forward. Could go on mentioning Villa etc but we all have to remember wenger treats the transfer kitty as his own dollar and would not splash £20m+ on a player (just my opinion. Best suited player for us would be either of the Wolfsburg demon duo – Dzeko and Grafite. Preferably Dzeko as he is young, up and coming, huuge, brilliant in the air and just a fantastic creator, poacher and finisher. Grafite on the other hand, experienced, just as massive, scary (his name alone is enough to make defenders worried) skillful, fast and being 31, would be a fantastic temporary replacement for RVP, when he comes back Grafite would be there when we need him.
May think I am abit OTT with me thinking we need 4 players. But I am not, those four players would mean back up, depth, strength, all what we seem to lack at the most crucial of times each season.
Please let me know if you disagree with me, and feel that four players of the above description would not fit the bill perfectly and boost our chances by miles of finally bringing the title back where it belongs.

Andre-Pierre Gignac. Good body strength, reasonable price, not sure he’s cup tied if he played in europa league, can play as a lone striker… just what we need.

Bellamy knows the Prem. and I’d love him here too but what do people think of Ryan Babel? Good mates with RVP. Would have been a gooner if the boss woulda been arsed to pay for him and given that he’smbeen half decent for Rafa imagine what the Professor could do with him!
Also Yohan gourcuff or however you spell it. To be honest, although I know about this thing of us winning at Anfield normally leads to us winning the league, i can’t see it if we have that Fawlty Towers geezer in goal!

I think arsenal need centre foward which can receive a ball, holding, passing or scoring a goal. These kind player must be quick, have a pace, good dribbler, tough and strong and important thing is intelligent.All the characters for the time being we can see at the players like dzeko, romelo lukaku and gignac.Mr Wenger must look seriously to sign among those 3 players if want arsenal to be tittle contenders this season.

A striker in form of Carlton Cole to stand in for the injured Van Persie and the departed Adebayor. Cole can hold the ball well upfront, he is good in the air and would be eligible to play in the champions league. As far as the midfield is concerned, Wenger should buy Veloso, who is a good defensive Midfielder. he would be a cover for Song during the Africa cup tournament. Remember Veloso can also play in defence. Otherwise the squad doesnt need more changes and am sure through the purchase of these 2 quality players arsenal can win a major silverware this season.
