In some games the referee gives a penalty .I refer to the Villa Pool game. The ball seemd to have hit the Pool defender. However no penalty was awarded. Going back to OT when Ashvin was syced down by Fletcher a clear penalty shd have been given.later the Russian scored a goal. My take is if a penalty were awarded the defender would have been give a yellow. It could have changed the complexion of the games.That's why the ref is crucial guy. in the cl tackles are automatically given a yellow and I strongly believed that Hughes would have been sent off. It's about time epl refs are brought in line with cl refs. There would be some standardisation of the fouls/tackles which called for unishment. I feel Arsenal have a harder task to win the epl than the cl. One final note. Two footed lunges shd result in an automatic rc. No ifs and buts.But again you never know.
