Manchester City to make their first major signing of the January transfer window next week

Patrick VieiraIt has been reported today that Manchester City will make their first major signing of the transfer window next week, with Inter Milan’s Patrick Vieira understood to be the man on his way to Eastlands.

Roberto Mancini signed Patrick Vieira during his days as Inter Milan boss and it now looks as though he will sign him again, this time as Manchester City manager.

Vieira, 33, is desperate to leave the San Siro during this month’s transfer window after falling down the pecking order at the club and there certainly has been no shortage of interest. The likes of Lyon, Liverpool, Tottenham, Chelsea and even his former club Arsenal have been linked with his name, however Manchester City appear to have won the race with a six month loan deal likely to go through early next week.

All in all, I think this is a good bit of business by the world’s richest club. Vieira obviously has bags of experience and I feel, in this a World Cup year, he will no doubt be out to prove a few people wrong and show everyone that he is capable of making into the French squad for South Africa.

What do you think? Comments below please.

I think with his experience, size and talent that he has this has the potential to be a good signing. Candidate to be the captain too.
