What the hell is Emmanuel Adebayor doing wearing an Arsenal t-shirt?

Posted by Cathal Breathnach on January 12, 2010 | 6 Comments

Adebayor ArsenalI know the guy has just endured a horrible few days, but why on earth was Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor wearing an Arsenal t-shirt during an interview today?

The former Arsenal man was recapping last Friday’s terrorist attack in Africa which claimed the lives of three men on board the Togo team bus whilst wearing a polo t-shirt of his former employers.

To say it baffled me would be an understatement. This is the guy who ran nearly 100 yards to celebrate in front of Arsenal fans when he scored for City last September. If you haven’t seen the interview, just click here.

I am sure you Man City and indeed Arsenal fans will have something to say on this. Comments below please.

You would at least think the person who was interviewing him would have hinted that at him before going on National television.
I was surprised too! I was like….”This must be an old recording of some sort…Maybe not, as he’s speaking of the present”.
To run 100 yards and mock the fans of your old team….takes guts to wear their T-shirt and sob over bullets.
Arsenal fans must be like..”What do you want now?”

I do not see his wearing an Arsenal T-shirt as a big deal. As far as I am concerned, It is just a dress. Afterall, he cannot just wipe out his Arsenal sojourn from his history simply because he is now a Man City player. He should be judged by what he does on the field with Man city and not by what he wears not in the UK but in Africa. It is a free world. Most importantly, the interview was not pre-arranged or are you suggesting that he should have asked the Journalist to wait for him to change before granting the interview. Football is a game and we should fans should not whip up unnecessary accrimony.

He is not an arsenal fan, and got caught stealing kit from the arsenal training ground before his departure. This means he packed his suitcase with an arsenal tshirt??? The guy is crazy. I’m sure you man city fans wouldn’t be saying ‘its just a tshirt’ if it was a man united tshirt!!
