Robinho : I have played my last game for Manchester City

Posted by on January 24, 2010 | 12 Comments

Robinho Man CityAll this month, we have been hearing rumours regarding Robinho’s future, however tonight it would appear as though the Manchester City striker has in fact, played his last game for the club.

The Brazilian striker has this evening announced he has played his last game for the club he joined last September for a British record £32.5 million.

The former Real Madrid man scored in City’s 4-2 FA Cup victory over Scunthorpe today, which amazingly was his first goal of the season. It is understood that Robinho, 25, will join his hometown club Santos on a six-month loan deal before the transfer window shuts in just over a weeks time.

Speaking earlier today, Robinho had this to say : “The directors all agree that it’s better to send me out on loan. It would be exceptional to return to Santos. Playing for Santos would help me in my path to the World Cup. It is my home, I know everyone.”

I really don’t understand what happened to Robinho. He was, without doubt, one of City’s best players last season, however this season he has just been woeful. His attitude has been all wrong and I think it’s best for him and indeed Manchester City as a club that he leaves now.

As my dad says, “Good riddance.”

What do you think? Will Mancini now dip into the market for a replacement? Comments below please.

no replacement…we have got SC,Ade,Bell,Tevez as striker…Petrov,W.Philips as side player…Ireland & who else for attack mid…we do not need another…unless of course we got too much excess money to spend…

Could not put it better,Good Riddance,be interesting though to see who will pay his wages at £165K a week.
Its an old saying perhaps now learned by the owners ” If he wont play for the shirt, get rid”
Served his purpose though, his signing in almost the last minute of the transfer window was a massive statement of intent to the world.

I dont get it, last year i would have said hes one of the best players in the world and sooo enteraining. For a player with that quality to be playing in the brazilin league is a joke and i feel hes had a bad season but hasnt really had a chance to prove his worth. Its a pitty hes all about the money because he still has the potencial to win a ballondor. Id take him at old trafford. Fergie would sort him out. ?????

He makes Petrov look like a workaholic. I want players who would craawl over broken glass to sign for City.
The sad part about it though -from Mark Hughes’ perspective is that Robinho was just one of the unmitigated disaters perpetrated by that idiot Gary Cook,. If anyone should go its him.

Footbal fans are a joke. He’s ur best player one minute and an idiot the next. He’s hardly played this year, remember? He’s been injured for most of it. People should get off his back, he’s got a lot of a ability.

Good riddance? Doesn’t want to play? Some of you fans are insulting the intelligence of the club.
Robinho was the first player to arrive at the linesman when they received a penalty kick, oh but wait, he doesn’t care…

Robinho has played what… 6 matches spread over 5 minutes every so many matches? And people have the audacity to say he doesn’t care!?

He is not playing well, because he doesn’t get the chance. In 5 minutes, you cannot make much of a difference, even if you were Lionel Messi.

On that note, Robinho is not like Bellamy. Robinho is a striker, attacking winger. He has never defended like Bellamy. Why? He was never played that way, he doesn’t know how to do so and he’s not a strong defender, due to never being one. Bellamy can, because he’s strong.

Football fans should be disgusted the way he’s been treated by some of the “Man City fans”. Use that term loosely. Scoring 14 goals last season and now you don’t like him? Do you really think a summer break can make that much of a difference to a player? If you do, go check a psychiatrist, because you most likely have a few screws loose. Robinho is not playing well, because he doesn’t get the chance and people are slashing him, because they fail to see the concept of him not getting enough time to get back to match fitness, get back is confidence and that he’s not a defending player.

Good job, “City fans”, for being directly responsible for making a player like Robinho play terrible, because you don’t understand football.

Question— I’m a new fan to the EPL and was wondering, when it says he joins for 32.5 million… does he get that money or the club? Or some combination?
