Wayne Rooney to be included in Manchester United squad to face Bayern Munich?

There has been talk today that Wayne Rooney may make a shock return to the Manchester United squad for Wednesday’s crucial Champions League quarter-final 2nd leg tie with Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.
The England striker was initially ruled out for 2-4 weeks last Thursday after it was announced he had damaged ankle ligaments during the 1st leg in Munich with Bayern, however it was reported earlier today that Rooney has made significant progress in his recovery from the injury.
It has been claimed by a handful of papers that Rooney has already been back in the gym, however he has yet to return to training which may prevent him from lining out on Tuesday.
The 24-year old missed his side’s 2-1 defeat against Chelsea on Saturday which know leaves United’s Premier League title bid in jeopardy. It would be incredible if Rooney did return for Wednesday’s game and personally, I think Ferguson should play him, even if he is only 70% fit.
Without him, I honestly believe United have no chance of reaching the semi’s. You saw on Saturday how much they missed Rooney and I think it would be the exact same on Wednesday if he doesn’t play. I’m keen to hear what you have to say on this one. Comments below please.
