Wayne Rooney starts against Bayern Munich – Has Alex Ferguson just made a huge mistake?

Posted by on April 7, 2010 | 6 Comments

So Wayne Rooney starts for Manchester United in tonight’s crucial Champions League tie with Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.

The England striker was ruled out for 2-4 weeks just last Thursday after injuring his ankle in the 1st leg in Munich, however against all odds, Sir Alex Ferguson has decided to start him tonight.

I’m not sure if Ferguson is right to play Rooney from the start tonight given the circumstances, however, who am I to question Ferguson’s decision. I know one thing’s for sure, Fabio Capello will be covering his eyes every time Rooney goes in for a tackle during tonight’s game.

I’m keen to hear what you have to say on this one. Comments below please.

This one is a big suprize.
But I think Fergie knows that United’s entire season hangs in the balance over this game.If they win they have a shot at both the league and the champions league. If they lose this one, the team will be totaly deflaited and out of all competitions.
Also notice that ALL the “old legs” that startd the previous match are out and instead have the “young guns” innstead…make or break for united.
BTW – if they lose today I think Fergie will clean house in the transfers and sell and buy like crazy and build -again- a new team…
