Is this the man to replace Cesc Fabregas at Arsenal?

Posted by on May 20, 2010 | 13 Comments

Dozens of names have been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent days following the news that Cesc Fabregas wants to leave the club.

The Spanish midfielder is expected to join Barcelona in the coming weeks with several reports claiming a £45 million deal may be complete before the World Cup kicks-off.

One player who would fit right in at Arsenal according to many top pundits is Manchester City midfielder Stephen Ireland.

The former Republic of Ireland international has struggled to make an impact at Eastlands since Roberto Mancini arrived at the club last December.

Before Mancini’s arrival, Ireland was considered by many as one of the best midfield players in the Premier League. Ireland, 23, was voted the club’s Player of the Year for the 08/09 season and was nominated for the PFA’s Young Player of the Year award in the same season.

Ireland would no doubt jump at the chance to move to the Emirates and with Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger believed to be a keen admirer of his, I believe there is a good chance this move will happen.

It is thought that Arsenal would have to pay around the £9 million mark for Ireland and in my opinion, that would be a great deal for the Gunners. As I have said on a number of occasions, Ireland is too good to be sitting on the bench every weekend and I for one don’t blame him for wanting to leave City.

Top Gunner, Ireland is a top top player. He is not in the City team due to a personality clash.

This is a feasible article. If any thing is rubbish its your lack of English.

Gourcuff is better and can be a better replacement although he’s not like Cesc

i think ireland is a good call as cesc’s replacer IF and only if cesc really move..ireland is kinda underrated by many, but he’s an excellent player..i would suggest wenger to buy either gourcuff(the best choice),arteta(underrated, but a very good player),ireland,or van der vaart..notice i’m only suggesting for a replacer, but if wenger can buy one of those without losing cesc,i reckon nobody will fancy meeting us.

A move would be good for Ireland and the Emirates would suit him down to the ground, but is he good enough for Arsenal? Probably not!

no one in the world cn properly replace cesc except for xavi and we all know the chances of that happening, it is the same case as man u trying to replace ronaldo, we must buy someone to fill in his position, ireland, gourcuff, arteta are all good outside options but none could come close to truly replacing cesc, we must hope some player we already have steps their game up to the next level, if cesc went but van persie and arshavin played full consistent season along with nasri diaby and song creating a formidable midfield cesc’s departure would not leave us much weaker than this season considering the injuries

It’s very hard to gate a player like Fabregas cause no one in the World,if Wenger will fail to stop him we have to accept the situation. My comments is that the Man United midfielder Anderson is a best player for us because his still a Young
