Will Steven Gerrard still be a Liverpool player next season?

Posted by on June 6, 2010 | 8 Comments

The past few weeks have seen Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard strongly linked with a move to Spanish giants Real Madrid.

The England midfielder is understood to be one of Jose Mourinho’s main transfer targets and it is widely reported that Real will make a £30 million bid when the transfer window opens later this summer.

Gerrard, 30, failed to rule out the possibility of leaving Anfield when he was asked about his future a number of days ago. When asked about what is going on at Liverpool a few weeks ago, Gerrard said : “We’ll have to wait and see, but I’m not really interested at the moment in what’s going on at Liverpool.”

There is no doubt in my mind that Gerrard is one of, if not the, best midfielder in the world and it would interesting to see how he would cope with life at the Bernabeu.

The next few weeks should be fascinating and I for one believe Gerrard may well be wearing the white of Real next season.

What do you think? Comments below please.

gerrard will stay for life he’s red trough and trough. torres will give it one more season mascherano the cry baby will leave but not to barca they dont play defensive and they have busquets there after they sell toure. shame about mascherano though personally i think he’s the best in the buisness at his role. i think babel and lucas have huge potentiall only need a decent manager to get the best out of them. rumour has it 15m will be made available to new manager plus sales of fringe players as mascherano deal will go of debt so we’re lookin at 30m an personally i’d like hogdson and he’d bring in duff and zamora for 12m a decent left back cheap option 5m leaves 13m for holding mid i’d like parker or cattlemole both english with a pedagree to fight for a cause. my eleven for next season would be …………reina……………….
    johnson…..carragher….agger…hodson choice
    ………………..parker………………..
    babel…………..gerrard………….duff..
    ……………….torres…………………
    bench.. bouzanis, skrtel,insua,lucas,kuyt,jovanvic,pacheco

Why would stevie G want to leave Liverpool now if he was going to go he would have done it when he had the chance to go to Chelsea. Think he had had enough of raffa changing players positions. he and torres will stay. YNWA

I think he may go because he hasn’t had the best of seasons and Liverpool aren’t in the Champions Leauge. Maybe that was to do with Rafa, now he’s gone I think Gerrard will stay
