Manchester United consider cheeky move for Michael Ballack as Arsenal prepare to let William Gallas go

Well the opening few games of the World Cup have proved to be a little bit of a let down so we thought we’d take a break from what’s going on in South Africa and bring you a couple of interesting stories from today’s papers.

The first one we have for you involves Arsenal and the French defender William Gallas. The Mirror has reported that Arsenal have decided to let Gallas go after the two parties couldn’t agree a new deal.

The 32-year old moved to the Emirates back in 2006 after spending 5 years with Chelsea. However his demands of £80,000 a week has seen the Gunners decide to let him go and it is now expected that Arsene Wenger will look to bring a new centre-back to the club in the coming weeks.

I have never really rated Gallas and to be honest, I think it’s a great decision by Arsenal to let him go. I reckon he will be playing in the French league next season but who he is playing for, I really don’t know.

Elsewhere, former Chelsea midfielder Michael Ballack has today been linked with a surprise move to Manchester United. Ballack, 33, was released by Chelsea last week along with Joe Cole and has since been linked with several clubs around Europe including the likes of Real Madrid and Wolfsburg.

Sir Alex Ferguson knows he hasn’t got much money to spend this summer with United in a huge amount of debt so I suppose it makes sense for him to look for a bargain or two. If he could stay injury-free, I personally believe Ballack has another season in him in the Premier League and I would be fascinated to see how he would adapt to life at Old Trafford. Ferguson did sign an aging crock in the form of Michael Owen last summer so it wouldn’t surprise me at all to see Ballack wearing red next season.

We would like to know what you have to say. Share your thoughts by leaving a comment below.

If you want a bit of a laugh right now, watch Wayne Rooney and James Corden working on a World Cup celebration for the England striker. Enjoy.

This article is utter nonesense, neither of those two has been’s will be anywhere near Old Trafford next season.
Keep trying to keep the pot bubbling that we have zero cash and have to constantly consider signing players on a free, scurrilous.
Good Advert though, the Actor in the Red Top, sure know’s his gymnastics.

RedScot, when did I ever say Gallas might be moving to Old Trafford?
