Tottenham ready to make £14 million bid for Manchester City duo?

Posted by on July 4, 2010 | 23 Comments

Several papers are reporting today that Tottenham are ready to make a summer bid for Manchester City duo Craig Bellamy and Micah Richards.

Harry Redknapp is keen to add to his squad during this summer’s transfer window ahead of Tottenham’s first season in the Champions League and if you believe what you read in the papers, Bellamy and Richards could be on their way to White Hart Lane.

Both Bellamy and Richards are expected to leave Eastlands in the coming weeks with Roberto Mancini reportedly ready to sell both players if the price is right.

Bellamy, 30, has been linked with several clubs in recent days and weeks but there has been talk that a move to London doesn’t interest him. Meanwhile, Richards, 22, has also been linked with a number of clubs over the past few weeks but unlike Bellamy, the muscly defender is thought to be keen on a move to north London.

I would be shocked to see either player still at City when the season starts next month. With David Silva now on the books at City, it is quite clear that Bellamy will find it very difficult to nail down a first team place next season. They are both more than capable players and I reckon they could both do a job at Spurs.

If they ain’t good enough for city then they’re not good enough for us. Anyway, Bellamy is one of the most detestable idiots going.

Not very inspiring so far, is it! They need a Klinnsmann/Edgar Davids type signing now, not the aged and rejected of Eastlands.

I don’t think we need to worry about a footballer being an idiot, though. They leave school at 16.

Stoney everyone who has said that, hasn’t had him playing for their team. He is a 100% fully committed psycho. You need them in your team.

the richard deal should be done in the next few days and i would take bellamy he has pride and passion drive and desire and he wants to win and you need that mix of old and young head just look how germany have played with a core of young players and a few old head in the mix they play great football and hope to can do the same with that blend in our squad

Graeme souness. Yes, his energy and commitment on the pitch is for all to see, but so is the fact he’s a nasty piece of work who could start a punch up in an empty room. I’ve had a season ticket at spurs for 20 years and never want to see a player of his moral turpitude sully the beloved lillywhite shirt.

Stoney so you know Bellamy personally do you? He does excellent with Childrens charities in Africa but I wouldnt expect Sun raeders like you to know that and is not an ass licker like some of the footballer sycophants.

No need to worry though City wont be seling him. So you climb back into your little hole.

As a seasoncard holder at City, I would like to see both players stay for different reasons. When Hughes got Bellars, we were all slating the deal but he came good for us. Richards just needs to focus and stay clear of his nightclub antics.I hope this does not go through, sorry you spuds!!

well i think they would both be great signings as richards is a very good defender although he had very little playing time. You just don’t become bad players over night, he most likely needs to get focused and get his head down which harry is a master at turning players around, and bellamy does not like the fact that other players have not given their all and we seem to lack that on the pitch sometimes and harry looks as though he’s about to put that right if we are going to compete for things

Erm..Stratty, Edgar Davids and Klinsmann, were both aging players when they signed for us. Bellamy has always given 100% on the field, and is unquestionably a talented player, but so many clubs in so short of time, does say theirs a problem with him a person.Do we really a marquee signing?, only if we want to create disharmony over contracts, nope for me Richards is exactly the type of player we could do with, and I’d opt for Ireland, instead of Bellamy, to add a cutting edge in midfield.

Sorry meant to add Stoney, that Souness started his career at Spurs before moving under a cloud to Midddlesbrough, I’ve seen him in a Spurs shirt mate, and it looked damned good!

Soney, what an ignorant git you are, if you need any proof of Craig Bellamy’s morals have a look at http://www.craigbellamyfoundation.org I bet you have never invested so much of your life into helping others, hang your head in shame.

I’m a City fan and I had the same feelings about Bellamy when he first joined our club… however he’s changed my mind since being here. Ok he shoots his mouth off occaisionally but thats not necessarily a bad thing. But apart from that he’s not had any bad boy behaviour in the press and he’s been 100% commited every time he’s playing for us and it’s this I will remember him for. We will miss him next season if he goes.

I would take Richards all day, he is neither aged or has been, harry would be able to retore him to the player he was at 18-19 when an England international. Would prefer Ballamy to some of the “Carlos Kickaballs” we have been recently linked with, he is proven in Premier league at least. We need a bit of spice from a nasty piece of work, too many “nice guys” in our side.

Is definately not the patriotic type. More a hermit than a footballer.

i feel we need a strong pacey centre half to partner dawson cos king wont play every week and woodgate is a great player but to injury prone, we need to lose a midfielder (jenas), and cole and suarez would be great up front but we have to trust in arry

i would rather see forlan he works his socks off for the cause, but they are both good strikers

I’d take Bellamy. I get the feeling he’s a genuine bloke. If he feels the need to take a golf club to a few of them it must be because they deserve it! Always thought the world of Richards, and I think a move to us right now would be good for his career.

Bellamy to be fair has knuckled down and is playing well,Micah Richards has bags of talent and potential with Harrys guidence could become a great defender.

Both signings would be good. Harry could get Richards back to the player he was. And Bellamy would give that extra edge because his commitment levels are outstanding.

um not quite sure about bellamy yes hes a goal scorer but do we need his attitude i think hes the sort of person that brings a club to its knees get ue suarez he is a class act and a top professional and is exactly what we need

i would also like to see joe cole come to the lillywhites but if he doesnt seem to want the move then i wouldnt bother with him hes not a world beater cause if he was he would have been in the england team reguarly lets go for fabiano

Hammo. Ignorant git??? Yeah, let’s just forget he’s beaten up a women in a bar, attacked John arne riise with a golf club, sent abusive texts to Alan shearer and Freddie sheppard’s son when he was sent out in lone for being disruptive after arguing with sir bobby robson and then Graeme souness. He’s always getting in rows on the field with opposition and even team mates and also constantly abusive and aggressive to the officials. Yeah. Great guy. But by your criteria if you give away a load of cash that doesn’t matter a jot. I hope the the dictators, mass murderers and paedos of this world are listening. Just give a bit to charity. All your sins are forgiven. Idiot.
