Manchester United consider £20 million move for La Liga midfielder

Posted by on July 31, 2010 | 13 Comments

There has been talk today that Manchester United are weighing up a £20 million bid for Real Madrid’s Lassana Diarra.

The former Chelsea and Arsenal midfielder has fallen further down the pecking order at the Bernabeu following the arrival of German midfielder Sami Khedira on Friday evening.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is keen to add to his midfield options before the new season starts in two weeks time and Diarra is now seen as a possible acquisition.

Diarra, 25, has made just over 50 appearances for Real since joining the club back in 2008 and his first team opportunities are likely to be even more limited if remains at the club.

With Owen Hargreaves’ long-term future still unclear, Ferguson knows he needs to bring a new midfielder to Old Trafford and personally, I think Diarra would be a magnificent signing.

He may not be the biggest midfielder in the world but what Diarra lacks in height he certainly makes up for in his ability to tackle and pick out a pass. It will be fascinating to see what happens with regards Diarra’s future in the coming weeks so stay tuned to Football Corner for all the latest.

I hope this is nonsense. I’d hate to see that little peanut-headed muppet at Old Trafford.

I will chose defour or ozil over diara. Beside we need a young blood b/w the age of 23 below. Who we can train not who that have been trianed. I will be happy if sir alex sign ozil and sanchez. Somebody like wright philip or ashely young are also a good player. Not diara instade van der vat.
