This is the perfect time for Arsenal to make a move for this England international

Arsenal have been linked with a number of goalkeepers in recent weeks and one name which keeps popping up is Manchester City’s Joe Hart.

The England international was expected to be Roberto Mancini’s number one keeper this season. However, Hart has had a less than convincing pre-season in goal for City and it is now expected that Shay Given may be Manini’s first choice for the new season.

Hart, 23, is considered by many as one the best keepers in the Premier League and like many others, I believe he is far too good to be sitting on the bench every weekend.

Speaking about his current situation, Hart had this to say: “All I want is to play in the Man City first team – but if I wasn’t I’d have to reconsider.”

The former Shrewsbury man went on to say: “It is so different playing for the reserves. I want to be in the limelight, playing for the first team and at the moment I am working hard to get into Manchester City’s first team.”

And what does the manager think? Well Mancini had this to say when asked about the goalkeeping situation at Eastlands: “I don’t know if he will be my first-choice, it depends. I will pick the players who deserve to play.”

I am a huge fan of Hart’s and there is no doubt in my mind that he deserves to be playing every week for  a top Premier League club. Arsenal desperately need to sign a new keeper if they are to challenge for any silverware this season and personally, I reckon Hart would be a stunning signing for Arsene Wenger.

i think hart would be a great addition to our squad! would love to have him in goal for us but i really dont see wenger getting him. i would imagine city bumping the price up on him (partly because he is english). and i think wenger is looking to get an old experienced player to mentor scezny till he is ready to take number 1. i really hope wenger doesnt stick with almunia now, because he had a decent game today, but i fear he will.

Joe Hart would be a great addition to Arsenal in place of Almunia and Fabianski, but no Wenger will still keep faith with these two hapless idiots just on their performance in the Emirates Cup, so after about two games we will have let in more goals than those scored just because Wenger is being stubborn. Pluse we also need another tall athletic central defender.

No chance! don’t have pockets deep enough to sign the best keeper in England!

I don’t think we should buy him. Is he better than Schezney and Monnone? I don’t think by much. So if we by him we will be loosing either of these two keeper. as they are all around the same age. We need a good experience keeper who will give us two to there years while the above two can be understudies.

I can’t see City Selling hart to Arsenal, I’m afraid. They are obviously in no need to sell him money wise, so I can see little incentive for city to accept any bid. Nor am i convinced that Mancini has full confidence in Shay Given. There is a very good chance he will make the no 1 spot next season!

No thanks, stop patronising us. He might be the best in English goalkeepers but he is not realy better than our youngstars (Don Manone & Schecsky.
So offer him to other clubs but us.

I think Hart would be a great addition to the Arsenal squad. Yes he may be young but unlike Arsenal’s back-up goalkeepers he is already an established first team player and will probably now be the first choice England keeper. Wenger needs to replace the mistake prone Alumnia and, with the new squad rules, the home-grown Hart would be the ideal candidate. The problem is that Man City don’t need to sell players so it will be hard to prise him away from Eastlands. Ultimately, Hart needs to be playing week-in-week-out, if Mancini is not going to give him that opportunity he needs to looks elsewhere meaning a move to the Emirates would suit Hart and Arsenal perfectly.
