Chelsea are the team to beat this season

There are now just over 36 hours to go before the 2010/2011 Premier League gets underway and many believe that this season, any one of five teams can win the title.
Manchester United, Arsenal, Manchester City and to some extent Liverpool all have a chance this season but in my view, Chelsea are most definitely the team to beat again.
Carlo Ancelotti’s men are unsurprisingly favourites with the bookies to retain their title this season and despite the fact they have failed to add to their squad this summer, I still believe they are good value at 7/4.
If Didier Drogba plays like he did last season (the Ivorian scored an impressive 29 Premier League goals), Chelsea should have no problem in the goalscoring department again this season. Frank Lampard will no doubt be key to Chelsea’s success again this season. The England midfielder always seems to score more than the majority of strikers in the Premeir League and the Stamford Bridge faithful will no doubt be hoping he can do that again this time around.
John Terry had his troubles last season but there is no denying his importance at the heart of the Chelsea defence. Talking about Terry, here is a very interesting piece about the former England skipper’s performances for Chelsea after the revelations about his private life.
So now you know what I think, why not tell us who you think will win the Premier League title this season? Comments below please.

I predicted on my blog on Friday night that I think Chelsea will come 4th.
Going to stand by my shout, even after todays 6-0 hammering of West Brom. Although I’m already beginning to regret it.
Just think they are an aging team. Terry also looks to be struggling a bit, although I wouldn’t write him off.
I also think a lot will depend on Essien this season, if they keep him fit then they will be there or thereabouts, but if he gets injured I can see them struggling.
So far I don’t think Ancelotti has done good business in the transfer market. He has got rid of some dead wood, but I haven’t seen too much coming in to replace it.
With still a couple of weeks to go though, he could make a couple of good signings and improve his squad.
Until the transfer window closes, it is hard to make any solid predictions.
