Liverpool flop Aquilani heads back to Italy

Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani has joined Italian side Juventus on a season-long loan deal, after he was deemed surplus to requirement at Anfield.
Liverpool boss Roy Hodgson didn’t include the Italian midfielder in the squad for Thursday night’s Europa league clash against Trabzonspor as Hodgson wanted to complete a deal sooner rather than later. If Aquilani had of played it would have left him ineligible to play for another team in European competition.
“At the moment we are considering loaning him to an Italian club.” said Hodgson after Thursday’s 1-0 win over Trabzonspor.
Aquilani, who has been capped 11 times by Italy, has made only 28 appearances for the Reds, scoring two goals in the process, has struggled with injuries and found it hard to find top form at the club.
Aquilani had been strongly linked with a move to Juventus after Liverpool completed the signing of Danish midfielder Christian Poulsen from the Turin club, for £4.5 million last week.
Juventus have also completed the signing of Serbian international striker Milos Krasic from CSKA Moscow in a deal which is worth over £12m.
Liverpool will no doubt be hoping Aquilani regains some of the form which led Rafa Benitez to cough up £20 million for him last summer. It has been speculated that terms of the loan move would involve the new club paying all of his £65,000 wages (circa €4million a year) and an option to buy once the loan is complete.

I don’t Think Aquilani should be sent out on a loan deal…!! He is a very CREATIVE player which is one thing liverpool lacks, and he has skills and together with kuyt and gerrard he can create entertaining and winning football. he should be playing for Joe Cole on Monday because of the position where he will be creating goals and he is also a quite good finisher. He cannot be compared with Mascherano and poulsen as they are defensive mids. Gerrard should play beside mascherano and Aquilani behind the striker. It is NOT FAIR!! he never gets the chance to shine. We should never give up on our young talents like these. He’s GREAT!!!!!
