Liverpool want Real Madrid midfielder to replace Mascherano

Liverpool are reportedly in talks with Real Madrid to sign midfielder Mahamadou Diarra as the Merseyside club prepare for life without Javier Mascherano.
Roy Hodgson is willing to let Mascherano join Barcelona if the Spanish giants meet Liverpool’s £19 million asking price.
With Mascherano likely to leave Anfield in the coming days, Hodgson is already looking for possible replacements. Dozens of names have been linked with a move to Liverpool this summer but with Real looking to offload a number of midfielders, Diarra is now seen as a likely acquisition.
The 29-year old is desperate to leave the Bernabeu before the transfer window shuts following the arrival of Mesut Ozil at the club. It is understood that Liverpool would have to cough up somewhere near the £5 million mark if they are to get their hands on the Malian international.
I personally believe Diarra would be a superb signing for Liverpool. He is a very similar player to Mascherano in that he rarely ever gets on the scoresheet but he has a terrific range of passing and at the rumoured £5 million, I think he would prove excellent value for money.
