Premiership Top Four Race Could Be Most Exciting Ever

There is little doubt that this is the most open Premiership season to date, with more teams challenging for the title and more teams challenging for a top four finish than ever before.

It seems the Big Four’s dominance is no longer and a Big Six could be referred to from next season.

The Premiership Odds for this season have Man Utd and Chelsea as the main challengers for the title and that is of no surprise, they have won the last six Premiership titles between them.

With the experience, consistency and quality those two teams have it would be a surprise if any other team breaks their monopoly just yet.

Man City’s millions seem to be having an affect on their fortunes, they are single figure odds to win the Premiership but still only fourth favourites behind Arsenal, who have impressed the bookies with the start they have made to the season. Both teams look guaranteed to have a good season but with Arsenal’s over reliance on a couple of their players and Man City likely to need time to gel both sides could represent poor value to finish in the top four (both sides under 1/2 with most bookies).

If Man City and Arsenal offer poor value to finish in the top four then there must be a couple of sides that are overpriced. Spurs broke into the top four last season and seem a big price to do it again at a generous price of 11/4 with several bookies, it is generally considered amongst the bookies that Spurs and Liverpool will battle it out for fifth but Liverpool are expected to win that battle as they are just 2/1 to finish in the top four, and therefore more likely that Spurs. It has to be said, between the two it is actually the Londoners that look a better bet.
