Tottenham to make deadline day move for former Manchester United striker?

Tottenham are ready to make a deadline day bid for Villarreal striker Giuseppe Rossi, according to today’s Daily Mirror.
The former Manchester United man has been strongly linked with a move back to the Premier League throughout the summer but as of yet, nothing has materialised. However, that may be about to change.
Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp is still keen to add another striker to the ranks at White Hart Lane with Robbie Keane likely to depart before the window shuts at 6pm on Tuesday. Luis Fabiano and Klaas Jan Huntelaar have both been linked but with Fabiano now staying at Sevilla and Huntelaar on the verge of joining Schalke, Rossi is now Redknapp’s number one target.
The 23-year old has scored 45 goals in just over 120 appearances for Villarreal and is considered one of the best strikers in La Liga. With Champions League football now on offer at Tottenham, it is understood that Rossi may be interested in a move to north London.
I personally would love to see Rossi back in the Premier League. He was never given a fair crack of the whip during his time at Old Trafford and if Tottenham can get him for somewhere near the £14 million mark, I reckon he would prove terrific value for money. Make sure to stay tuned to Football Corner for all the latest news as the transfer window gets ready to slam shut.

You can buy both Champions League final tickets and FA Cup final tickets right now. Who knows, maybe Spurs will be in both of them.

He is a talent, but we have players of his size already. You also have to ask who he will displace.

Is he going to improve our squad, I doubt it. we need a player that can play as a lone stricker if needed . I don’t think this is the player harry was talking about at the start of the window. Happy with the two sigings we have, but like harry i’m sure, would have loved us to get that special striker! can’t win them all harry!coys
