Could this Liverpool midfielder really be on his way to Tottenham?
Posted by Cathal Breathnach on August 31, 2010 | 7 Comments
Tottenham have been linked with a whole host of names in recent days and weeks. But here’s a new one for you.
Ryan Babel.
Yes, there are reports this morning that Harry Redknapp is looking to sign the Liverpool midfielder before the transfer window shuts later today.
Tottenham are keen to bring Babel to White Hart Lane on a season-long loan deal. However, Liverpool are only willing to let Babel leave on a permanent basis.
The 23-year old has struggled to make much of an impact since joining Liverpool back in 2007 and should Babel stay, he is likely to spend much of the season sat on the bench.
It remains to be seen if a deal can be struck between Liverpool and Tottenham so stay tuned to Football Corner for all the latest.

What a ridiculous article. Liverpool are struggling to bring in another striker why on earth would they let Babel go if they have no one to replace him. Think before you write things, you fool.

Simon, I didn’t make up the rumour. And you ask why Liverpool would get rid of him when they are looking for a new striker. Maybe they want to get some funds so they can go out and buy a new striker. So relax son.

I’d have to go with the pants poorly researched article feeling. For starters, the title, Liverpool midfielder?? Really? Babel has always insisted he’s a forward, though he often get’s played wide left, a 30 second bit of research would show on his website that he’s always been a forward.

I’m so sorry Choccy. Well if he gets played as a left winger, which he does, well then he’s a midfielder in my eyes.
