Reports today claim that Fulham defender Brede Hangeland may be the man to replace Lescott at Goodison Park.

The Norwegian international has been strongly linked with a move away from Craven Cottage in recent weeks, with Arsenal understood to be interested, however as of know, Arsene Wenger has yet to make a bid leaving the door wide open for David Moyes to make a move.

Roy Hodgson will obviously be keen to hold onto one of his most prized assets, however Fulham will find it hard to turn down a bid of £10 million plus for the 28-year old.

Personally, I think Hangeland would be a magnificent replacement for Lescott. He is, without doubt, one of the best defenders in the Premier League and I feel Everton would be receiving great value for money should they land him for somewhere near the £10 million mark.

It will be interesting to see how this one pans out over the coming, so stay tuned to Football Corner for all the latest. What do you think? Would Hangeland be a good signing for Everton? Comments below please.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is desperate to bring Hangeland to the Emirates before the transfer window shuts on September 1st. Should a deal go through at the rumoured £15 million, it will be one of Wenger’s most expensive signings since arriving at the club in 1996.

Hangeland, 28, is open to a potential move to Arsenal, however he also claimed that he would be more than happy to stay at Craven Cottage for another season.

Personally, I think Hangeland would be a perfect replacement for Kolo Toure, who left the club earlier this summer to join Manchester City. Arsenal clearly have a bit of money to spend and I feel they should just give Fulham the £15 million because the sooner they get Hangeland to the club, the better. The Norwegian international is without doubt one of best defenders in the Premier League and at £15 million, he would still prove value for money.

One man who has been strongly linked with a move to Arsenal is Fulham defender Brede Hangeland. The Norwegian international was one of the Premier League’s top performers last season earning some high praise from Fulham boss Roy Hodgson.

The 28-year old has been offered a new deal at Craven Cottage, however it is believed Hangeland is waiting to see if any offers come in for him and it is now understood that Arsene Wenger is weighing up a possible £9 million bid.

Roy Hodgson has always maintained that he would never stand in Hangeland’s way if he wanted to join a bigger club. I would be a little bit surprised to still see Hangeland wearing the white of Fulham next season. There is no doubt he is one of the best defenders in the league and I feel should he sign for the Gunners, he would prove a massive success.
