After what feels like an eternity, it would, fingers crossed, seem we are finally nearing an end to the Carlos Tevez transfer saga. The Manchester City striker has been linked with a whole host of clubs in recent weeks and months after the Premier League leaders confirmed their desire to offload the Argentine.

This all stems from Tevez’s refusal to come on as a 2nd half substitute during City’s 2-0 Champions League defeat away to Bayern Munich all the way back in September. A clearly seething Roberto Mancini stated after that game that Tevez would never play for the club again as long as he was manager and the Italian has stuck to his word.

Serie A giants AC and Inter Milan have long been linked with moves for Tevez, 27. However, neither club have been able to reach an agreement with City officials, leaving the door open for Paris Saint-Germain to enter the race.

The French outfit are set to meet with Tevez’s representatives on Thursday with a view to completing a move early next week. Money is not an issue for PSG anymore after they were taken over last summer by Qatar Sports Investments, who, if you believe what you read, are friends with the owners of City.

New PSG manager, Carlo Ancelotti, had this to say regards a possible move for the former Manchester United and West Ham man: “Carlos Tevez – it’s a great opportunity for us to have a great striker. Today Tevez isn’t playing for Manchester City, but he wants to play. Today, nothing is done. We have to talk with the player, and with Manchester City. We hope to find a good solution.”

It is thought that a deal worth £25 million could be complete in a matter of days.

Like me, I’m sure you are as desperate to see an end to this one. There is no doubting his ability as a player, but it’s fair to say that the Premier League won’t be losing anything when Tevez does leave. Yes, he can scores goals, but he is not someone you can fully rely on and the way he has conducted himself over the last 6 months has been nothing short of pathetic.

A pretty sensational debut from Manchester City’s £38 million man Sergio Aguero as he bagged himself two goals, one of which was an absolute peach, to help Roberto Mancini’s men claim an emphatic 4-0 win over Premier League new-boys Swansea City.

Given the fact he only came on with a half an hour remaining at the Etihad Stadium, it really was a perfect debut. As well as scoring twice, he also set up David Silva for City’s third goal on the night to get his new club off to the perfect start to the new season.

Well, what about that then. It was only Swansea, but did City’s performance tonight suggest they may go on to win the title this season? And, just how impressed were you by Aguero’s performance?

Kia Joorabchian, agent of Carlos Tevez, has insisted the player will still leave Eastlands before the transfer deadline, after missing out on a return to Brazil this week, with a European country surely his most likely destination.

Tevez on Wednesday saw a proposed move to Corinthians fall through, with City claiming the Brazilian club had failed to provide the required bank guarantees on the £40million fee, however Joorabchian denied that this indeed was the case, claiming there were still sticking points over other aspects of the deal, but insisted Tevez would remain calm while he waits for his future to be resolved.

“I think Carlos is a very calm person, He’s neither disappointed nor happy. We waited to see how the deal would be structured and he tried to keep out of it in terms of insisting on anything, now he’ll go on holiday after the Copa America and see what happens”.

“There was a concrete offer on the table, and it was very close to being negotiated and agreed, but unfortunately it didn’t go through. There’s not really any speculation from our standpoint (on what happens next), He’s still a City player and he will respect that. We will keep it like that until there’s something else concrete on the table.”

Tevez, who has previously had spells with Manchester United and West Ham, has said he wants to leave City to spend more time with his daughters. He submitted a transfer request last December, before withdrawing it and helping City finish third in the Premier League table.

Manchester City have already said that it will take their original value of the player (50 million pounds) for the club to sell their captain, after only accepting Corinthians offer of £40 million as a gesture of goodwill to Tevez himself. The player is said to be a target of Getafe, who had a City-style takeover earlier this summer by Dubai’s Royal Emirates Group, and are said to be willing to pay the money that would see the Argentinean come to La Liga for the first time. It is of yet unsure whether Inter Milan, who had a bid turned down for the player in 2007, Real Madrid or Barcelona are willing to enter the race for the player, who has scored 150 goals in 274 league apperances, and was the Premier League’s Golden Boot winner last season.

As a result, several clubs around Europe are now interested, including Spanish giants, Real Madrid.

Both Chelsea and Internazionale have already been strongly linked with a move for the Argentine in recent weeks. However, with Real now seemingly interested, few would bet against a move to the Bernabeu for Tevez.

Tevez, 27, looks to be winning his race to line out for City in the FA Cup Final at Wembley on Saturday, but despite the fact City are now withing touching distance of silverware and are on the brink of Champions League qualification, Tevez remains keen to leave Eastlands.

City boss Roberto Mancini has already stated that he will do everything he can to keep Tevez at the club. Jose Mourinho is simply desperate to sign Tevez this summer as he looks to bolster his attacking options, with Emmanuel Adebayor set to return to City after a loan spell in the Spanish capital.

As much as it pains me to say it, I reckon Tevez is as good as gone. He is, without doubt, one of the best strikers the Premier League has seen in the last decade, but unfortunately, I think his days in England are now numbered. Whether he goes to Real Madrid or Inter, I really don’t know. Wherever he does end up, I am 100% sure he will be a huge success.

Tevez, 27, was recently included in the PFA Team of the Year and is, unsurprisingly, a wanted man.

Italian giants Internazionale are said to be monitoring the situation. However, Chelsea now look set to challenge Inter for the Argentine striker, with talk of a a possible £40 million plus Didier Drogba bid set to be launched.

Despite Champions League football likely to be on offer at Eastlands next season, Tevez is supposedly keen to leave and a move to Chelsea now looks a real possibility.

It really would be the move of the summer, but for me, I can’t see Drogba too keen on being used as bait in any deal. Only time will tell I guess as to whether Tevez does move to Stamford Bridge and/or if Drogba does make the move north to Manchester, but I’m keen to hear what you think.

Much has been made about his future in recent days and weeks following the news that Tevez handed in a written transfer request at Manchester City earlier this month.

The 26-year old has already been linked with a whole host of clubs, including the likes of Chelsea and Real Madrid. However, it has been claimed today that Tevez may even make the short trip back across town to United.

It really would be one of the most incredible transfer of recent time, but you know what they say, football is a funny old game. Several bookies are offering odds on Tevez’s next club and despite United being fairly big odds to sign him, for some strange reason, I can see it happening.

It would be a real shame to see Tevez leave City because he has been doing so well, but unfortunately, I think it’s only a matter of time before he does.

On the day Manchester City joined Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table, it has been revealed that, arguably the club’s best player, Carlos Tevez wants to leave the club.

The Argentine striker is no longer happy at Eastlands and earlier this week, he handed in a written transfer request which is no doubt a major blow to City’s title hopes.

Tevez, 26, is reported to be home sick in Manchester and desperate to return to Argentina where his two daughters currently live.

The former Manchester United man has had a rocky relationship with City boss Roberto Mancini ever since the Italian arrived at the club last December. Last week saw Tevez react angrily to Mancini’s decision to substitute him during City’s 1-0 win over Bolton and it seems that may be the last time we see the £160,000-a week frontman in a sky blue shirt.

If/when Tevez does leave, it really does leave City with a major hole to fill. With the greatest of respect to the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, Roque Santa Cruz, Jo and Mario Balotelli, Tevez is simply different class in my eyes and without him, I can’t see City mounting a serious title bid.

They faired well without him today in their 3-1 win over West Ham, but the Hammers are playing some shocking football at the moment so the victory was hardly a surprise. The coming weeks should be fascinating, with regards Tevez’ future at the club.

Caldwell embarrassed as break-dancing move doesn’t come off right.

Carlos Tevez scored another three goals tonight but, having gone in with two feet earlier on, it’s not unreasonable to suggest the Argentine should have received his marching orders before he even got his first.

Yes, Manchester City ran out comfortable 3-0 winners over Wigan in the end. However, that most likely would not have been the case had referee Stuart Attwell sent the former Manchester United man off for the tackle which saw Wigan’s Gary Caldwell shown a straight red.

Originally, I was fearful as a City fan, that Tevez was the man about to receive his marching orders. What relief I felt as Attwell hoisted his red card in the Wigan man’s direction. Having watched the incident from numerous angles, my opinion has remained unchanged. Even with my blue-tinted glasses on, I have to admit that Tevez went in dangerously and it was he, not Caldwell, who should have been sent down the tunnel.

Vital win for Mancini’s men, nonetheless. The race for 4th place looks like it’s going right down to the wire.

I’m keen to hear what you have to say on this one. Comments below please.
