With just a week to go now before the transfer window slams shut, there are still some big name players who could be on the move, including the man to your left.

Yes, Klaas Jan Huntelaar has been strongly linked with a move to the Premier League today, with Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham all believed to be interested in the AC Milan striker.

Huntelaar, 26, has failed to make any impact at the San Siro since making the move to Milan last summer in a £14 million move from Dutch side Ajax.

Before his move to Italy, the Dutch international was also linked with a move to England, however for whatever reasons nothing ever materialised on that front but just seven months later, it would appear a move to the Premier League may be on the cards.

Everton boss David Moyes has today admitted he is interested in bringing Huntelaar to Goodison Park before the transfer window shuts next Monday, however he is likely to face stiff competition from the likes of Arsenal, Liverpool and Tottenham who are all understood to be monitoring the player’s situation.

Huntelaar is reportedly looking to leave AC as soon as possible in order to gain first team football in this, a World Cup year. He has made just over a dozen appearances for Milan since arriving last summer and for a player of his ability, that’s not enough. I have always been a fan of Huntelaar’s and I would personally love to see how he would cope with the pace of the Premier League. He is a natural-born goalscorer and I strongly believe he could do a job for any of the sides in question.

What do you think? Comments below please.

It’s day twelve of the January transfer window and I think it’s fair to say, the silly rumours are beginning to appear.

The first rumour which caught my eye today was Arsenal’s apparent attempts to sign Everton striker Louis Saha. The former Manchester United man has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park in recent weeks, with several Premier League clubs apparently interested.

Saha’s contract at Everton is due to run out at the end of the season and Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is looking to take advantage of the situation.

It has been reported that Saha, 31, is unlikely to sign a new deal at Everton as a result of the club’s failure to meet his huge wage demands but would Arsenal be ready to cough up nearly £60,000 a week to sign the Frenchman. Only time will tell, but what do you Arsenal fans think? Would Saha be a good signing?

Anyway, another Everton player has also been linked with a move to London today. Midfielder Marouane Felliani is understood to be on Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti’s wish list. The Belgian international has been a revelation at Everton since arriving almost 18 months ago from Standard Leige. Despite Ancelotti stating he would not be entering the market this month, big names, including Felliani continue to be linked with a move to Stamford Bridge.

It would be interesting to see Felliani in a Chelsea shirt, however I just can’t see it. David Moyes will obviously be doing everything he can to keep Felliani at the club and unless several Chelsea midfielders get injured in the next three weeks, I doubt anything will happen.

Finally, Spanish giants Real Madrid and Barcelona are ready to take advantage of Manchester United’s massive financial trouble. There is talk today that both clubs will make massive £70 million bids in an attempt to bring Wayne Rooney to La Liga. United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has previously stated he would never let Rooney leave Old Trafford, however following the release of the club’s financial situation, the owners may think twice should they receive a bid of the rumoured £70 million.

Although I love watching Rooney week in week out in the Premier League, I would be fascinated to see how he would adapt to life in Spain. He is, without doubt one of the best player’s in the world at the moment and although it would be shame to see him leave, it would be intriguing to see him link up with the likes of Lionel Messi or his former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo.

Have your say on all the above rumours by leaving a comment below.

I’ll be the first to admit it. Three weeks ago I thought the Premier League was going to be a one horse race, with Carlo Ancelotti’s Chelsea looking unstoppable, however after today’s result I am beginning to wonder what was I thinking.

David Moyes’ Everton twice came from behind to earn a point at Stamford Bridge this afternoon raising question marks over Chelsea’s title ambitions. They remain favourites to lift the trophy come the end of May, however should Manchester United beat Aston Villa in Saturday’s late kick-off, the bookies will no doubt be altering their odds.

Once again today, Chelsea keeper Peter Cech was at fault for a goal or two. It was the same last weekend. The Czech Republic international probably should have saved Carlos Tevez’ winner for Manchester City last Saturday, however it wasn’t to be and now Chelsea find themselves under increasing pressure.

They face Portsmouth at home on Wednesday night which should be an easy three points, however the way they are playing at the moment, you just never know.

What do you think? Is the Premier League now a two horse race, or maybe even a three horse race? Comments below please.

Everton’s Seamus Coleman inspired an incredible comeback for David Moyes’ men to come from 2-0 down to earn a 2-2 draw at Goodison Park this afternoon.

The former Sligo Rovers man replaced the injured Joseph Yobo after just 20 minutes of proceedings, however despite this he still managed to be the man of the match.

The right-back was at the centre of everything good for the Toffees today and even had the Everton faithful singing “One Seamus Coleman, there’s only one Seamus Coleman.”

He was involved in both goals for the home side, setting up Louis Saha for the first and playing a massive part in the equaliser for Tim Cahill.

The 21-year old undoubtedly has a massive future in the Premier League and I am sure if he keeps it up, he will be earning a call up for the Irish national team. I certainly wish the lad all the best.

What do you think about Coleman? Comments below please.

A lot to get through today, so lets not waste any time.

Firstly, The Daily Star has today reported that Arsenal are preparing a £17 million January transfer window bid for Aston Villa striker Gabriel Agbonlahor.

The England international, 23, has emerged as one of the Premier League’s finest talents over the past three years or so and Arsene Wenger now seems ready to test Villa’s resolve with a sizable offer.

Obviously Martin O’Neill will be desperate to hang onto one of his most prized assets, however, I have to admit, I would love to see Agbonlahor in an Arsenal jersey. There is no doubting his ability and personally, I think he has what it takes to play on the biggest stage of all, the Champions League.

Meanwhile, Manchester United defender Nemanja Vidic may be on his way to Spain after it was claimed that he and his way can’t handle the English weather. The Serbian defender has previously been linked with a move to European Champions Barcelona, however the player himself denied that speculation, claiming that he wasn’t leaving Old Trafford anytime soon.

Vidic, 28, had this to say recently : “I want to play here well and for the fans and everyone to be happy with me, to see that I give the right effort, to give my best, to give 100 per cent. What is going to happen in the future, that no one knows.”

It would be a shame to see a player of Vidic’s ability leave the Premier League. I am sure Sir Alex Ferguson will do everything in his power to keep him at the club, however, we’ll have to wait and see what happens on that one. Staying with Manchester United. The current English Champions were beaten 1-0 at home to Besiktas this evening in their Champions League Group B match.

United have already qualified, so it doesn’t really matter, however they still need a point away to Wolfsburg in their last game of the group stage to guarantee top spot. And finally, back to the domestic scene and Everton were tonight beaten 3-2 away to Hull City to leave them languishing in 14th spot in the table with a third of the season already played. Elsewhere in the Premier League, Fulham hammered Blackburn 3-0 at Craven Cottage to climb into the top 10.

After months of speculation, Lescott has today finally left Everton to join the world’s richest club Manchester City for a fee of £24 million.

The England international has come in for some strong criticism from the Everton faithful, however I personally feel that most of that criticism is unwarranted.

The guy knew he would virtually double his wages if he moved to Eastlands, so who can blame him for jumping at the opportunity. It was the exact same thing with Gareth Barry when he left Aston Villa to join City.

People (mostly Villa and Everton fans) have argued that Barry/Lescott are taking a step down in their career by joining City. I would 100% disagree with that. With City, you can virtually guarantee that they will be a top 4 club by the end of next season. The same cannot be said about Villa or Everton.

Neither club has bags of money to spend and we all know that money talks in football. So can you really blame Lescott for joining City? Comments below please.

Reports today claim that Fulham defender Brede Hangeland may be the man to replace Lescott at Goodison Park.

The Norwegian international has been strongly linked with a move away from Craven Cottage in recent weeks, with Arsenal understood to be interested, however as of know, Arsene Wenger has yet to make a bid leaving the door wide open for David Moyes to make a move.

Roy Hodgson will obviously be keen to hold onto one of his most prized assets, however Fulham will find it hard to turn down a bid of £10 million plus for the 28-year old.

Personally, I think Hangeland would be a magnificent replacement for Lescott. He is, without doubt, one of the best defenders in the Premier League and I feel Everton would be receiving great value for money should they land him for somewhere near the £10 million mark.

It will be interesting to see how this one pans out over the coming, so stay tuned to Football Corner for all the latest. What do you think? Would Hangeland be a good signing for Everton? Comments below please.

While I can’t hide my glee at the Premier League being back in action, with all of that joy comes a bit of sadness. As a Manchester United fan I’ve already witnessed the ups and downs that every Premiership season brings, but even outside of my own club I have already experienced some dreadful emotions.

Everton Football Club brings the most sadness for me. While I’m not a diehard Toffees fan by any stretch of the imagination, I have always found a soft spot inside for the hard working people’s club of Liverpool. Couple that with the fact that they’ve got the USA’s number one goalkeeper, and you’ve got a second team of choice for any American.

This season, though, has brought far too much disappointment for David Moyes and his men. Two matches into their season, and two losses later, Everton fans – and football fans in general – are still scratching their heads at Everton’s woes.

I, for one, can’t put a finger on their problems. Look around the pitch and you’ll see some of the most exciting talent in the league. The defense in front of Tim Howard (who is one of the best goalkeepers in the Premiership) is solid: Phil Neville, Leighton Baines, Joseph Yobo, and Phil Jagielka are just some of the talented and experienced heads in the back.

Everton’s midfield is even better. Tim Cahill and Marouane Fellaini combine to form one of the Premier League’s most balanced midfields. Steven Pienaar and Mikel Arteta are two of the most skilled wingers with the ball at their feet, and goals have never been a problem for this foursome.

Up top Everton enjoys a wealth of riches. Louis Saha, while he missed his penalty against Burnley, has proven that he knows how to score. Combined with Jo and Yakubu, the Toffees front line has goals, pace, and power to spare.

Their manager is no slouch, either. David Moyes is one of the most proven managers in the world, and the man often tipped to replace Sir Alex Ferguson at United has a lot to figure out. The distraction of Joleon Lescott should end soon with his move to City imminent, and injuries to key players such as Yakubu and Mikel Arteta should be resolved soon.

So perhaps it’s that Lescott distraction, or maybe it’s the injuries. Whatever it is, Everton’s disappointing start to the season is a bit confusing for football fans. With so much talent spread around the pitch, Everton could find themselves challenging the top four for a Champions League spot. In order to do that, though, Everton will need to sort themselves out. Fast.
