The Brazilian striker has struggled to nail down a first team place at Eastlands this season and recently admitted he would love to rejoin his hometown club Santos.

Robinho, 25, has got his wish and will now re-join the club with whom he made his name.

It is such a shame that things haven’t worked out better for Robinho at Eastlands. During his first season in England, he was excellent, scoring 14 Premier League goals in the process.

He has scored just once this season which, for a player of Robinho’s ability clearly isn’t great. We at Football Corner would like you to sum up Robinho’s time at Manchester City in three words. Whenever we do this feature we always seem to get a good response and I hope we get the same again.

Tell us your three words by leaving a comment below.

I’ll start us off with my three words : promised so much.

All this month, we have been hearing rumours regarding Robinho’s future, however tonight it would appear as though the Manchester City striker has in fact, played his last game for the club.

The Brazilian striker has this evening announced he has played his last game for the club he joined last September for a British record £32.5 million.

The former Real Madrid man scored in City’s 4-2 FA Cup victory over Scunthorpe today, which amazingly was his first goal of the season. It is understood that Robinho, 25, will join his hometown club Santos on a six-month loan deal before the transfer window shuts in just over a weeks time.

Speaking earlier today, Robinho had this to say : “The directors all agree that it’s better to send me out on loan. It would be exceptional to return to Santos. Playing for Santos would help me in my path to the World Cup. It is my home, I know everyone.”

I really don’t understand what happened to Robinho. He was, without doubt, one of City’s best players last season, however this season he has just been woeful. His attitude has been all wrong and I think it’s best for him and indeed Manchester City as a club that he leaves now.

As my dad says, “Good riddance.”

What do you think? Will Mancini now dip into the market for a replacement? Comments below please.

The Brazilian striker has spent just over a year at Manchester City since joining from Real Madrid for £32.5 million.

Since arriving in England, Robinho hasn’t been short of a word or two to say and today has been no different.

Speaking to El Mundo Deportivo today, the 25-year old had this to say : “Of course I would like to play for Barca. Who would not? We could have so much fun.”

So people, what have we got to say about Robinho? Football Corner wants you to sum him up in just three words. Please tell me your three words by leaving a comment below.

My three words : bye bye Robby.

To be perfectly honest, I’m surprised this move didn’t happen during the summer.

Manchester City striker Robinho looks as though he may be on his way to Spanish giants Barcelona after spending just over a year with the world’s richest club.

The Brazilian international was strongly linked with a move to the Catalan club during the summer transfer window, however for whatever reasons, nothing ever materialised. Robinho hasn’t played for City since injuring his ankle over a month ago and to be honest, Mark Hughes’ men have been better without the £32.5 million man.

Ever since Robinho arrived at Eastlands over 12 months ago, he has been nothing but trouble. Perhaps I am being a tad bit harsh, however I firmly believe that City would be better off without him. He is a player who craves the limelight. He’s not interested in being a team player and with all the big name arrivals this summer, he is no longer the player everyone is talking about at City.

The 26-year old even admitted earlier this year that he would one day love to move to the Camp Nou to play for Pep Guardiola’s men and I would not be at all surprised if that happens in January, especially with the comments today from Barca Sporting Director, Txiki Beguiristain.

When asked about the possibility of Robinho signing for the European Champions this winter, Berguiristain had this to say : “He is a very interesting footballer and he can play in the Champions League.”

What do you think? Comments below please.

The Brazilian international has been strongly linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona this summer, however for whatever reasons nothing has materialised.

Robinho, 25, has previously insisted that he is happy to remain at Eastlands, however he did also admit that he would one day love to play for Barcelona.

Robinho signed for Manchester City this time last year for a British record £32 million. During his first season in the Premier League, he scored an impressive 14 goals and also scored a goal during City’s UEFA Cup campaign.

I would not be one bit surprised to see Robinho leave England before the transfer window shuts on Tuesday. It would be a real shame, however I think with all the new arrivals at City this summer, Robinho is now longer the only star at the club and I feel may growing a bit frustrated at that.

What do you think? Comments below please.
