Today sees West Ham, who were taken over by messieurs Gold and Sullivan earlier this week, express an interest in bringing Van Nistelrooy back to the Premier League.

So far Tottenham, Liverpool, Arsenal, Stoke, Chelsea, Blackburn and Fulham have been linked with the 33-year old over the last two months, however as of yet, nothing has materialised, leaving the door wide open for West Ham to make a move.

The former Manchester United man has barely played for Real this season, which has fuelled speculation that he is looking to leave the Bernabeu to secure first team football in this, a World Cup year.

West Ham are clearly looking to strengthen in the coming days following the recent takeover, however how much Gianfranco Zola will be aloud spend is the big question. Van Nistelrooy obviously won’t cost that much in terms of a transfer fee, however his hefty wage demands may scupper any deal. Having said that, I believe there is a strong chance we may see Ruud in a Hammers shirt before the transfer window shuts on February 1st.

I’m keen to hear what you have to say on this one. Comments below please.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy is a wanted man.

Stoke City, Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal and Blackburn have all, in recent weeks, been linked with a potential January move for the Real Madrid man, however a new name entered the frame today.

Tottenham. Yes, Harry Redknapp has today admitted he would be interested in bringing Van Nistelrooy back to the Premier League if a deal could be done.

Speaking earlier today, Redknapp had this to say when asked about the possibility of Van Nistelrooy becoming a Tottenham player : “He is interesting. I wouldn’t sit here and say it isn’t of interest but again it would depend what the deal is because the chairman would deal with that side of the business.

“But he is an interesting player. He was a fantastic player in England and he has been a great player over the years and is a great goalscorer and if he was available it could be of interest and that’s about as far as it’s gone.”

Redknapp currently has four strikers at his disposal in the form of Jermain Defoe, Robbie Keane, Peter Crouch and Roman Pavlyuchenko, however with the latter looking to leave White Hart Lane, a new striker is understood to be one of Redknapp’s main priorities during this window.

I have said it once, and I’ll say it again, Ruud Van Nistelrooy is still a good player who could still do a job in the Premier League. I know he’s 33 now but you don’t need to be young to score goals. During his time at Manchester United, he proved he is a natural goalscorer and in my opinion, he would be a great addition to the Spurs squad.

Having said all that, I can’t see Van Nistelrooy getting much of a game at Spurs considering all the strikers currently at the club. In this, a World Cup year, Ruud knows he needs to get some first team football under his belt if is to have any chance of making the Dutch squad who make the trip to South Africa this summer.

So, what do you think? Comments below please.

Another busy day in the transfer market, so let’s not waste any time.

First up, there are reports today that Manchester City are apparently ready to spend a ridiculous sum of £14 million on Portsmouth defender Younes Kaboul. Roberto Mancini is keen to add a defender or two to the ranks at Eastlands, however at £14 million I honestly feel City would be wasting their money.

Admittedly, Kaboul has been one of Potsmouth’s top performers this season but that really is nothing to boast about considering the fact they are currently sitting rock bottom of the Premier League table. I would much rather see City put £14 million towards signing someone like Yaya Toure than go for Kaboul.

Meanwhile, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has today told his players to handle the ball if they are about to go down injured. His comments come after Saturday’s 2-2 draw at home to Everton, where the visitors almost capitalised when Denilson was down injured.

Wenger had this to say : “I said to Denilson: ‘If that happens, you have to commit a handball.’ I’m very serious. If you go down, and there hasn’t been a foul, you cannot ask Everton to stop their counter-attack. At least put your hand on the ball and it’s a free-kick.” Despite the fact it’s against the rules to handle the ball, I would have to agree with Wenger’s thinking. Yeah, you might get a yellow card for deliberate handball but at least you’re not conceding a goal.

Finally, Stoke City have this evening confirmed that they are interested in bringing Real Madrid striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy to the Britannia Stadium. The Dutch striker has been strongly linked with a move back to the Premier League in recent days with reports claiming a six-month loan deal may be on the cards. Liverpool, Arsenal and Tottenham are reported to be interested in the 33-year old, however Stoke are the first club to openly admit an interest.

Stoke chairman Peter Coates had this to say today : “We’re interested in pursuing it and we’ll see where we can get with this. We’re going to see if there’s a way of doing a deal. You never know. It could be a loan deal. The key thing is whether Ruud himself would be keen to come.” I think the answer to the last question maybe a resounding no from Van Nistelrooy himself, but we’ll have to wait and see.

Have your say on all the above by leaving a comment below.

Ruud Van Nistelrooy to Liverpool is one such rumour which appears in the column this today.

The Real Madrid striker has been linked with a move back to the Premier League for a number of months now after the 33-year old admitted he may have to leave the Bernabeu in January in order to play first team football, in this, a World Cup year.

The former Manchester United man has made just 4 appearances for Real this season scoring just once in the process. Since leaving Old Trafford back in 2006, Van Nistelrooy has scored over 60 goals for the Spanish giants, despite the fact he spent almost a whole season out of action through injury.

Rafa Benitez clearly needs to bring in a new frontman during next month’s window and personally I think he could do a lot worse than signing Van Nistelrooy on a six-month loan deal. We all know that Ruud can score goals, however he is getting on a bit so it will be interesting to see, if he did move to Anfield, how often he would play.

I’m keen to hear what you have to say on this one. Comments below please.

He has been at centre of much speculation this season and today a new club has reportedly entered the race.

Tottenham are the latest club to be linked with a January move for Real Madrid striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy.

The Dutch international has been strongly linked with a move back to the Premier League in recent weeks and months, with both Liverpool and Arsenal also understood to be keen.

The Daily Mirror reports that Harry Redknapp would be interested in the former Manchester United man if he became available, however he is likely to face competition from both Arsene Wenger and Rafa Benitez.

Spurs obviously aren’t short of frontmen at the moment, however with both Roman Pavlyuchenko and Robbie Keane possible departures come the new year, you really can’t rule out Van Nistelrooy arriving at White Hart Lane.

I personally wouldn’t be at all surprised if Van Nistelrooy was playing in England before the transfer window closes on February 1st. He is now 33, however I personally believe he could still do a decent job for any of the three clubs involved.

Who do you think Van Nistelrooy will be playing for at the end of January? Comments below please.
