They were the words of Sir Alex Ferguson after the Manchester United boss was asked if he was looking to sell Dimitar Berbatov, whom he spent over £30 million on nearly two years ago, this summer.

The United faithful, who look delighted with the news in the picture, have called Berbatov many things this season including “lazy, shit, waste of money, not fit to wear the shirt, clown, bad player, Berbasauras-rex etc;”.

Many criticised the Bulgarian last season but personally, I thought he was amazing. He scored 12 incredible goals in the season, I lost track of the amount of assists he provided and was an all-round menace to the opposition defences in the Premier League.

Berbatov is still only 29 so he is still very young and I for one believe his best years at Old Trafford are most definitely ahead of him.

Feel free to have your say on the matter by leaving a comment below.

From the moment it was announced that Manchester United had agreed a deal to sell Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid, I was convinced that the Premier League title wouldn’t be making it’s way to Old Trafford this season and it looks as though I was right.

Even though they have only narrowly missed out on the title this year, I personally believe it’s fair to say that United looked nowhere near as good a side as they did when Ronaldo was at the club.

Without Ronaldo they seemed to lack that cutting edge which they most definitely had last season. It’s not just Ronaldo’s goals they missed this season because Wayne Rooney was doing the business for them in that department. It was Ronaldo’s ability to sprint past defenders and deliver stunning balls into the box that United really missed throughout this campaign.

You couldn’t really blame United for deciding to sell Ronaldo given the £80 million they were offered by Real Madrid. However the thing which baffled me and thousands of other football fans around the world was the club’s decision not to properly replace him. Yes they brought Antonio Valencia to the club but I know who I would pick if I had the choice between the former Wigan winger and Ronaldo.

It would seem that Sir Alex Ferguson has regrets over the decision to sell Ronaldo. The United boss was quoted as saying in today’s Telegraph that he wouldn’t spend £60 million on anyone except Cristiano.

Ronnie, as he was more affectionately known around Manchester, proved once again why he is one of the best in the world this evening, as he scored twice against Osasuna in a 3-2 win at the Bernabeu to help Real Madrid move back to within a point of Barcelona at the top of La Liga.

Like I said before, I never expected United to win the title this season once they sold Ronaldo and the only way I can see them winning the league in the future is if they sign a proper world class player who is capable of winning games by himself.

What do you think? Will Ronaldo ever play in the red of United again? Did United make a mistake selling Ronaldo to Real? Comments below please.

Even the most ardent United fan will now admit that Chelsea have one hand on the Premier League title. Carlo Ancelotti’s side are a point ahead with a game in hand and with games running out, it is definitely Chelsea’s to lose.

The absence of Wayne Rooney up front this afternoon undoubtedly cost United. Berbatov was up to his old tricks. Giving out to other team-mates for his own failings, tamely shooting the ball at Paul Robinson and looking as lazy as ever.

There has been much talk in recent days and weeks that Ferguson will make a move for Valencia striker David Villa when the summer transfer window opens and I am sure the large majority of United fans would love to see the Spaniard arrive at Old Trafford.

Villa, 28, would cost United at least £35 million and if you believe what you read in the papers, the Premier League Champions don’t have that kind of money to spend. If they were to sell Berbatov, which I feel Ferguson would love to do, I reckon they would be lucky to get £12 million for him. It’s amazing to think that United coughed up over £30 million to sign Berbatov back in 2008 from Tottenham.

I’m keen to hear what you have to say on this one. Comments below please.

Never have, never will.

The Manchester United manager was up to his old tricks again tonight, blaming officials for the fact his side just weren’t good enough to beat Bayern Munich over two legs.

When asked about Rafael’s sending off against Bayern, Ferguson had this to say : “It was 35 yards from goal. There was no threat and the referee wasn’t going to do anything about it until they surrounded him. It is typical of Germans. They are like that.”

Ferguson was then asked if the red card changed the game, to which he replied : “There is no doubt about it. They were never getting through that tie, with 11 men we had no problem.”

“It is hard to digest something like that. It was a top performance. In one way you could say we have thrown it away, in another you could argue we were very unlucky.”

Obviously I am not a United fan but even given that fact, I actually felt Bayern could have qualified even with Rafael on the pitch. They were already piling on the pressure before the Brazilian was shown his second yellow card and who is to say they wouldn’t have scored playing against 11.

There is no doubt that the ref probably wouldn’t have shown Rafael a second yellow had it not been for the Bayern players surrounding him, however I firmly believe Rafael deserved to be sent off. Two stupid fouls from a player who is still quite immature in my book.

Apart from the first 30 minutes or so, I actually thought United were pretty ordinary. For Ferguson to stand there saying that it was a top performance from his players is just ridiculous. He is always quick to blame others when things don’t go his way but I’m afraid tonight, he has no one to blame but himself.

Anyway, rant over. I want to know what you have to say about Ferguson.

The England striker was initially ruled out for 2-4 weeks last Thursday after it was announced he had damaged ankle ligaments during the 1st leg in Munich with Bayern, however it was reported earlier today that Rooney has made significant progress in his recovery from the injury.

It has been claimed by a handful of papers that Rooney has already been back in the gym, however he has yet to return to training which may prevent him from lining out on Tuesday.

The 24-year old missed his side’s 2-1 defeat against Chelsea on Saturday which know leaves United’s Premier League title bid in jeopardy. It would be incredible if Rooney did return for Wednesday’s game and personally, I think Ferguson should play him, even if he is only 70% fit.

Without him, I honestly believe United have no chance of reaching the semi’s. You saw on Saturday how much they missed Rooney and I think it would be the exact same on Wednesday if he doesn’t play. I’m keen to hear what you have to say on this one. Comments below please.

If you believe what you read in the papers, Manchester United will be busy in the transfer market this summer.

Today sees the Premier League leaders linked with big money moves for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema and Aston Villa midfielder James Milner.

Sir Alex Ferguson is understood to be interested in adding to his attacking options during the summer and Benzema’s name is one that has been mentioned time and time again.

The French international has failed to make much of an impact at the Real since joining from Lyon for a massive £30 million last summer. Before Benzema moved to the Bernabeu, there was talk that the 22-year old would join United, however for whatever reasons, that never happened.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa’s James Milner is another name being linked with a move to Old Trafford. The England international has been in superb form this season and now looks certain to be a part of Fabio Capello’s World Cup squad.

Milner, 24, has spent the last 2 years at Villa Park, establishing himself as one of the best wingers in the country. Villa boss Martin O’Neill has moved quickly to deny rumours that Milner could be on his way to United by branding speculation “ludicrous”.

I’m not sure what to think of these rumours. As much as I would love to see Benzema playing in the Premier League, I’m not convinced he wants to move to England. With Milner, I personally believe he will spend another season at Villa before leaving for United.

What do you think? Comments below please.

The 18-year old from the sunny seaside town of Portmarnock in Co.Dublin has been making locals laugh uncontrollably with his impressions of numerous sporting figures.

A Facebook page by the name of “Al Foran Funny Man” created by Portmarnock’s very own David Sheppard already has over 100 fans, having only been set up this morning. If you like Al’s impressions, make sure you become a fan of his by following this link.

Al’s personal favourite is Gillette Soccer Saturday’s host, Jeff Stelling, however after watching the videos below, I’m sure you’ll have your own favourite.
