Tottenham are tonight on the brink of completing the signing of West Ham midfielder Scott Parker.

The England international has long been linked with a move away from Upton Park following the club’s relegation from the Premier League last May.

QPR had a bid of £4 million rejected for the current football writers player of the year only last week. However, it is understood that Spurs have met Parker’s valuation, believed to be around the £6 million mark.

West Ham boss Sam Allardyce admitted on Sunday that Parker could well be leaving the club, following the side’s 4-1 victory away to Nottingham Forrest, in which Parker was left out of the squad.

“We will miss a player of Parker’s quality, and we want him with us if the negotiation doesn’t go through,” said Allardyce. “If he does actually leave, I need to replace him immediately. I don’t expect any other player to leave before Wednesday.”

Spurs manager Harry Redknapp stated on Sunday that the club were close to announcing the signing of a player and that player is thought to be Parker.

Superb signing in my opinion. I have always been a massive fan of Parker’s and there is no doubt in my mind that he will be a big hit at White Hart Lane.

We are getting ever closer to the opening of the summer transfer window and already, some of the big boys in the Premier League are beginning to get busy.

Liverpool are on the verge of signing Sunderland’s Jordan Henderson, while Manchester United are close to securing the services of Blackburn’s Phil Jones.

One team who have also begun their summer shopping are Tottenham. The north London club announced the signing of Brad Friedel from Aston Villa last weekend on a free transfer.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is keen to continue signing fresh faces before his squad return to pre-season training in a few weeks time, and one player who continues to be linked with a move to White Hart Lane is Scott Parker.

The West Ham midfielder looks certain to leave Upton Park following the club’s relegation to the Championship, and Redknapp is ready to offer him a route back to the Premier League.

Plenty of clubs are interested, but the bookies believe that Spurs are the front-runners, offering just 1/3 that Parker joins the club before the window shuts in August/September.

I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again, Parker is a top class player who deserves to be playing for a side like Tottenham. In my opinion, and many other peoples opinion’s, Parker was never given a fair chance during his time at Chelsea and if he is given a good run in the side at Spurs, I believe he will be a huge success.

What do you think? Comments below please.

Now that West Ham are officially relegated, the papers in the coming days are sure to be full of stories regarding the future of Scott Parker.

The 30-year old admitted on Thursday that he would have to strongly consider his future should the Hammers finish in the bottom three.

Today’s 3-2 defeat against Wigan confirmed that West Ham will indeed be finishing in the bottom three and as a result, will be playing Championship football next season.

For some strange reason, I don’t think Parker will be at Upton Park come the start of the 2011/2012 season.

The England midfielder was recently voted the Football Writers’ Football of the Year and there is certainly no shortage of interest in his signature now.

Several clubs, including the likes of Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool are all understood to be interested in signing the former Chelsea man. Given their relegation, Parker’s price will, in all probability, be less than what it would have been had West Ham stayed up.

It is thought that a bid of around the £10 million mark will be enough to secure his services, and in my opinion, that would be a great deal for whoever does sign him. If I was to put money on Parker’s next club, I would have to go for Tottenham on the basis that he would expect to get first team football every week and also, he wouldn’t have to move house.

Feel free to leave your comments below.

The club who sign Parker may not need a business cash advance, but these are certainly a great source of finance for all business owners.

Avram Grant was today sacked as West Ham manager after the club were beaten 3-2 by Wigan at the DW Stadium to book their place in next season’s Championship.

It was all going so well for the Hammers with 26 minutes on the clock as Demba Ba scored his second of the day to put his side into a commanding 2-0 lead.

However, by the time the final whistle sounded, it was all over for West Ham. Three second half goals from Wigan was enough to rubber stamp their relegation and as a result, Grant was sacked soon after.

It’s fair to say that West Ham weren’t relegated just on today’s performance. They were relegated due to a season full of below par displays. One of the pivotal points of their season, in my book anyway, was their decision not to sack Grant back in January.

There was a lot of talk at the turn of the year that the former Chelsea boss would be axed and Martin O’Neill would replace him. Had that have happened, I honestly do not believe they would be playing Championship football next season.

But that’s life I suppose. Gold, Sullivan and Brady will rightfully come in for some criticism now and I can only imagine how you West Ham feel tonight.

So, West Ham are down, but do you think should be the next man to take the hot seat at Upton Park? Feel free to leave your comments below.

I don’t think the West Ham owners will need a title loan to pay off Grant, but maybe you should consider one.

“I’m like every player, I want to be playing at the highest level I can and in the Premier League.”

“I don’t know what the future holds for me but, for the moment, I’m still keeping everything crossed that West Ham stay up. Otherwise…”

Those were the words of West Ham midfielder Scott Parker after he was asked about the possibility of a move away from Upton Park.

With the Hammers now on the brink of relegation from the Premier League, Parker, 30, looks all set for a summer move, but who will he be joining?

Tottenham were close to signing the former Chelsea midfielder during the last transfer window, but for whatever reasons, the move never happened.

Spurs boss Harry Redknapp is understood to be a keen admirer of the player who was recently voted the Football Writers’ Footballer of the Year and a summer move to White Hart Lane now looks a real possibility.

It is widely expected that Spurs will be one of the busiest Premier League sides this summer with regards transfer dealings and Parker is just one of a number of targets. However, given the magnificent season he has had, Spurs are unlikely to be alone in their pursuit of Parker, with several European clubs also believed to be monitoring the situation.

Spurs already have an abundance of midfielders at the club, so you would think a few would have to leave before any move for Parker is to be made. Jermaine Jenas, Wilson Palacios and Niko Kranjcar could all find themselves on the way out of north London this summer, if reports are to be believed.

I would be fascinated to see how Parker would fit in at Tottenham. He was never really given a fair crack of the whip at Chelsea, so who’s to say it would be different at Spurs. I’m keen to hear what you have to say on this one. Feel free to leave your comments below.

Payday Loans can be a great way to get the cash you need to purchase that all important match ticket.

The former Liverpool man came on for Didier Drogba during the 2nd half and fully deserved his goal when it arrived with 84 minutes on the clock at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea splashed £50 million on Torres back in January and you don’t need me to tell you that his first few months at the club haven’t exactly gone according to plan.

However, Torres finally got off the mark today with a lovely left-footed finish inside the West Ham box which led to joyous celebrations amongst the players, fans and management at Chelsea.

I’m sure today’s goal was a huge relief for Torres and indeed everyone else at Chelsea. I for one am predicting that this is just the first of many many goals for Torres in a Chelsea shirt.

Birmingham came from a goal behind to book their place in the Carling Cup final on Wednesday night.

Alex McLeish’s men went into tonight’s semi-final 2nd leg against West Ham knowing they would need to overcome a 2-1 deficit from the 1st leg at Upton Park if they were to book their place in the final.

It was the visitors who took the lead at St. Andrews through a superb 25-yard strike from Carlton Cole. West Ham looked in control and went in at the break 3-1 to the good on aggregate, and the overwhelming favourites to progress.

However, Birmingham pulled a goal back just before the hour mark when Lee Bowyer, the former Hammer, finished cooly from 12-yards out. The home side kept piling on the pressure and equalised with 79 minutes on the clock when Roger Johnson headed beyond Robert Green.

The game went into extra-time and it was the man from Birmingham, Craig Gardner, who scored the winner. The former Aston Villa man unleashed a powerful effort from 25-yards out which proved just to strong for Green in the West Ham goal. Try as they might, Avram Grant’s side couldn’t find another goal and so it’s Birmingham who will play Arsenal in the Carling Cup final.

Superb comeback from Birmingham and I personally wish them the very best of luck in the final. It certainly won’t be easy against Arsene Wenger’s side, who are simply desperate to get their hands on some silverware, but you never know.

Elsewhere this evening, Liverpool continued their recent good form with a 1-o win over Fulham at Anfield. An own-goal from John Pantsil was enough to lift Liverpool up to 7th in the Premier League table.

With less than a month to go now before the transfer window opens, it’s fair to say that the rumour mill is in full swing.

West Ham currently sit rock bottom of the Premier League table and it is widely expected that several key men could make their way out of Upton Park before the January window shuts.

Scott Parker is arguably the Hammers most valuable asset and there is talk today that both Liverpool and Tottenham are preparing £8 million bids for the former Charlton midfielder.

Parker, 30, was strongly linked with a move away from West Ham during the summer transfer window. However, for whatever reasons, nothing ever materialised with regards his future but that may be about to change.

Roy Hodgson and Harry Redknapp are both ready to dip into the market and Parker is seen as an ideal addition for both.

Without trying to offend anyone, I personally believe Parker is simply too good for West Ham. There is no doubt in my mind that he should be playing at the highest level (ie, European football) and I would be surprised if he is still wearing the claret and blue of West Ham when the window shuts.

If you fancy a bit of gambling, you should check out what the Europa Casino has to offer.
